And Luka's been wandering about outside, exploring, albeit timidly. But--this place doesn't look so bad. There aren't any scary adults around, and she's seen a few kids already. She's making her way to the animals when she sees someone running in her direction.

And she freezes, clinging to the rim of her hat. What--What did he want?

He stops short at the sight of a tiny little girl looking as though something's scaring her. That piques his curiosity, and so instead of continuing to the barn, he crouches down to present a less threatening profile. "Hello there. Who are you, little one?"

Yeah, like he's all big and grown up himself.

She shrinks back, cowed at being talked to by a stranger, fingering the edges of her hat as she does so. But he doesn't seem so bad, she decides, though she's still anxious to run back to the house and hide.

"H--Hello." Hesitating, then, "I'm Lu--Luka."

"I'm Gilbert!" He'll just... leave out the part about how he's a priest for now, because it might make her even more nervous. Even if his attire ought to be a dead give-away, it's amazing how truly shy children miss such details.

"It's um, it's--it's nice to meet you...Gilbert." Odd name, odd costume...just what is this place? She clings onto her hat for dear life.

"I like your hat! It's cute~" He does feel bad that she's so terrified, really, but there's not much he can do beyond try to prove he won't hurt her.

That makes her blush. A boy just told her her hat is cute. Ohmygoshwait--wait, wait. She musters a tiny smile from under the brim of her hat. "Th--Thank you."

"You're welcome. D'you want to come see the animals with me?" He thinks he saw some chickens, and where there are chickens? There MUST be baby chicks. Right? Right.

She perks up at that. Animals are nice, and this strange kid isn't so bad. "Mm!" She nods, putting a small hand to her face on the pretext of wiping some dirt from her eyes, though she's really just trying to hide her blush.

He straightens up before offering her his hand. Ohgodwhyisshesocuuuuute~?!"C'mon~" He can hear the faintest of cheeping noises mixed in with the rest of the sounds the animals make.

Aaagh, blushing even more now and she can't even hide it! Not if she's gonna remember her manners and take his hand. She looks at him a bit uncertainly, then she nods, her hat looking as if it's nodding with her.

...Her hat would nod with her because it's on her head, right? Right! So he's not going to question it, instead taking her hand and leading her towards the barn.

Her hat would, however, stare vacantly at things. That shouldn't alarm anyone.

She follows him, meekly. It's okay to let him lead her to unfamiliar places, right? He's just a kid, right? "A--Are the animals there scary?"

"They should all just be farm animals, so they won't hurt you." He ends up guiding her to where the sounds of chickens can be heard, and they find themselves in a small roost area with a few chickens clucking and milling about some nests. "Huh, looks like there aren't any eggs..."

Though, if one looks closely in the nests, they can see one is occupied by a tiny ball of yellow fluff.

She unconsciously holds on to him, nevertheless. It makes her feel a little safer, though she soon finds nothing to worry about as she sees chickens all around her. The slightly rancid smell, the noises, the scurrying and clucking about--for a moment she feels out of depth, and excited at the same time. She doesn't get to see this many chickens in one place, if at all. It's all so new and interesting!

She gives a little chuckle at the fluff, before her hands shot up to her mouth. Blushing, "It's--It's cute."

"Huh?" He peers into the nest, about to point out that it's probably just shed feathers, when it stirs and makes a tiny, baby cry. "O-oh! It's a baby..." Since he's not really a farming nation, he has no idea that it's perhaps a bad idea to reach in and gently pick up the tiny bird. "So cuuute~!"
