And here's someone who is going to drive Emmeline crazy, maybe. Have an Ines, Emmi, sunbathing in a suit appropriate to the 1930s, but not to la Belle Epoque.

She's reading some bawdy poetry, from a book called A Debt to Pleasure, by one John Wilmot, Earl of Rochester. It's rather rakish, and makes her cackle with glee.

And to herself, she reads, in her audible French accent... Poor pensive Lover in this place,
Would Frig upon his Mother's Face;
Whence Rows of Mandrakes tall did rise,
Whose Lewd tops Fuck'd the very Skies.

She's still roaming the grounds when she spies the young personage reading aloud. Her ears might be burning a bit and she's likely blinking a bit at her peculiar garments, but she says, "You have a good speaking voice: are you an actress perhaps?" She's likely crossed paths with a few theater rats in her work with the Rescue Society.

Ines looks up, she laughs, lightly. "A theater person? Oh, non Madame. Just a damned bitch. Or a former postal clerk, if you prefer."

She might give the young woman a reassuring smile. She sounds an awful lot like one of the young women she met on the streets. "You needn't think of yourself that way: everyone has the chance to be saved, rather than damned, if they choose."

This is going to be good...

Perhaps have a disheveled haired lady in the gardens that could very well be one of your peers, well if it wasn't for the very masculine outfit she had on, or the strange, 'off' manner she carried about herself.

But alas, what do you expect from a child of the 20th century?

She's seen her share of mannishly dressed women in her work, usually women who worked in "whipping dens" or who catered to, ah, a certain clientelle, so the sight isn't too odd to her eyes.

"Good day, miss," she says. "Are you exploring the gardens as well?" she asks.

Typist wonders what kind of 'clientele' is that.

"Good day, Madam. Somewhat, I guess." If she cares to notice, her accent isn't English, it's a 100% pure Southern Yankee. XD

She notes that accent from the other side of the pond, and a small smile quirks in one corner of her mouth. "I'm Mrs. Emmeline Fox: might I ask, have you been here for long?" she asks.

Harry is walking down one of the corridors when he sees the lady - and mistakes her for somebody else.

"Professor McGonagall?!"

She's still exploring the corridors of the Mansion, but she pauses, eying the young man with the eyeglasses. "Oh, no, I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I'm not," she replies. "I'm Mrs. Emmeline Fox."

He opens his mouth, closes it again, blinks then sighs. "Oh... Sorry about that. You just look like somebody I know."

He then smiles. "I'm Harry. Harry Potter."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mister Potter," she says, smiling and offering her hand to him. "I hope I reminded you of someone whose company you enjoyed."

Later on, Emmeline might find a young woman on the porch, flipping idly through a magazine. Iphi's bored out of her mind right now, and wouldn't mind having someone to talk to.

Here's a nice-looking young lady, and she can't help smiling a bit at her, as she comes back to the porch after a long walk. "Good evening, and it is a good evening, isn't it?" she says.

She looks up and nods. "Yes, it certainly is," she remarks.

"Are you the young lady of the house, or are you a guest here, as so many people seem to be?" she asks, glancing at a wicker chair opposite Iphi, then sitting down, making herself comfortable.

If Emmeline takes a walk down to the lake, she will find Hisoka wading hip-deep in the water, in his jeans and tank-top. He is turning over in his mind the possibility of building a dock. So far, it is just an idea, but he is making notes regarding the depth to which he would have to sink the posts. He has a notebook in his hand, and is scratching his notes down.

There is a splash as a frog jumps off a log, and Hisoka looks up and smiles. At first glimpse, he can look quite young, to a person who doesn't know him. And he certainly was a scrapegrace when he was young.

She's likely found her way to the lake, and she's wondering if anyone has ever set up a bathing machine here or if anyone has a rowboat, when she spots the young man wading in the water.

"Hello, are you the shoremaster of this lake?" she calls out to him.

"No, madame, I'm the local boatwright," he answers. "You must be new here?"

I love that icon of her amongst the green whatever-that-is...corn? Reeds? Riverside brush?

"Yes, I only just arrived this morning," she says, coming to the edge of the water. "I'm Mrs. Emmeline Fox: I'm still finding my way about the grounds."

Looks like reeds to me (not sure as I haven't seen the whole movie it's from); it's one of my favorites of her!
