Wendla might be nearby, reading as well--a romance novel. When she sees Titus there, she blushes and quickly hides her book.

"Hello," she manages to say softly, waving at him--she doesn't want to interrupt, but she's curious about him.

"I hope you have not been troubled recently? There have been some dark happenings of late, though at last, they have come to an end: I trust you went unscathed?" he asks, concerned.

"I've been well, yes. Thankfully."

He glances to the book she's been reading. "Might I venture to ask what might be a personal question? Are you fond of faery tales and folk stories?" he asks.

[andadoring]

She nods. "I like those, yes!"

[77th_earl]

"I have a few books that I found in the library," he says. "I had wanted to give them to a young lady whom I considered a friend, but she seems to have found a way out of this world and into another. I would like you to have them, since they are rather in need of a good reader who would appreciate them."

[andadoring]

"Really? That's so nice of you!"

[77th_earl]

"Shall I fetch them for you? I shan't be more than a moment," he offers.

[andadoring]

"Oh, yes!" She smiles at him, kindly. "I'd like that."

[77th_earl]

"If you shall wait here, I shall return with them," he replies, turning and departing. It might be a few minutes, but he returns with three books, "The Red Fairy Book", "The Blue Fairy Book", and "The Fairy Tales of Charles Perrault", which he holds out to her. "I hope that you enjoy them."

[andadoring]

She takes them carefully, smiling.

"Oh, thank you very much! I'm sure I will."

He smiles back to her and it is a genuinely happy smile for once. "It was a pleasure to give them to you: You're the right person for them."

[andadoring]

"I will surely cherish them--don't worry!"

[77th_earl]

"I know that I shan't worry," he says. She might be less feisty than Duck was, but she's just as sweet and kind, in a different way.

[andadoring]

She grins. "Thank you so much, again!"

"You are welcome, Miss Wendla," he says.
