Wendla might be nearby, reading as well--a romance novel. When she sees Titus there, she blushes and quickly hides her book.

"Hello," she manages to say softly, waving at him--she doesn't want to interrupt, but she's curious about him.

Wendla blushes deeply. "I've never thought of it that way..."

"I never really thought of it until I met a girl who dwelt in the forests around the castle where I lived," he replies. "She was free and beautiful and she moved like a leaf on the wind, and I wanted to be with her always."

[andadoring]

"Is she here?" she asks.

[77th_earl]

"No, I've not seen her in this place, not yet," he says, thoughtfully.

[andadoring]

"Well, maybe she'll come here!"

[77th_earl]

"I hope that she does: I was not able to get to know her, because she was struck by lightning before we could get acquainted," he replies ruefully.

[andadoring]

"Oh! That's awful!"

[77th_earl]

"Aye, but that loss inspired me to strike out in earnest, in search of a world beyond the world I had known, which lead me to this place," he says, thoughtfully. "I could no longer tarry in a place that reminded me of my lost love."

She nods. "Of course, yes. That makes sense."

[77th_earl]

"And what of you? Have you found love and happiness in this place?" he asks.

[andadoring]

She nods. "Yes, I have! His name is Zhane and he's lovely."

[77th_earl]

He smiles. "That is good to hear and a relief to my heart. I would not want a young lady like you to be left alone and unprotected in a place such as this."

[andadoring]

She blushes, just a little. "I'm safe, thanks to him!"

"He must be a strong man, to protect you in this place: I have seen many strange things in this place," he says.

[andadoring]

She nods. "One has to be careful."
