Though of course, anyone else can tag in and comfort an emo and now panicked Earl

Titus is still grieving a bit for the loss of Duck, but he's taken Cyrano's advice to heart and he's currently sitting in the library, with quill pen and parchment, penning a letter to his missing little sister-elect...

It's a gloomy night, with a sky threatening a thunderstorm. He's got his back to the window, to keep his eyes off the grim darkness.

Dear Duck,

On the day that I found some lovely books of faery tales, I also found something tragic: I found that you had left this place quite suddenly....

He takes a step backward. "No, you shall not: I shan't leave this place unless I have chosen to and unless I am allowed to," he snaps, trying to sound more brave than he does. And likely failing miserably.

Morgoth laughs, seems yet more amused.

And how do you mean to stop me, miserable sop?

"I am free here and you cannot make me do what I do not wish to do," he retorts, trying to sound adamant, but that's hard to pull off when your knees are knocking together.

Is that so?

Typist willing, Titus will feel suddenly the uncanny desire to take a paper knife from the desk, and to stab it through the back of his good hand.

His hand quivers as if it had a mind of it's own. He fights the impulse, but he still opens the drawer, and takies out the paper knife, but he stops himself from stabbing his hand. Instead, he stabs the knife into the desktop and backs away from the desk, gripping his rogue hand with the other.

Again, laughter resounds in the room, deep and amused, cruel.

Well. Are you finally silenced, little boy?

Titus emits a painful, frustrated and fearful whimper: he's not quite defeated, but the gunpowder has been beaten out of him, as it were...

Satisfied, Morgoth will retire as violently as his entrance was insidious.

Suddenly, all is normal, but it will never be the same, we're sure, for Titus.

Titus snaps out of that strange feeling of powerlessness and that overwhelming presence.

But now, he wonders just what really lurks here and that old desire to be quit of the place is threatening to return: getting away from that strange voice and that terrifying force is reason enough to try and find a way out once again...
