Kvothe had been a little more reclusive than normal the past few months, perhaps it was the weather that had him down, but now he's sitting outside, watching the new leaves waving in the spring breeze. The air holds promise for the season to come, and though the red-headed man is quiet and thoughtful he's in a fairly good mood and would welcome ( Read more... )

Tsuzuki is at work, putting the finishing touches on a garden project to be revealed at this year's flower-viewing party, and at the moment, he's walking through with a length of bamboo pipe over his shoulder. Which is when he spies the flame-haired fellow. "Hey there!" he calls out, pausing and resting one end of the length of pipe on the ground. "Beautiful day, isn't it?"

"It is," Kvothe agrees with an easy, amicable smile. "You look busy, what are you up to?"

"Ahh, I'm working in the garden, adding a few decorations: it's the Flower-Viewing Festival where I come from, so I thought I'd add a few things to celebrate the season," he says. "It's gonna be hard to top last year, when I dug the pond in front of the house."

"It's a fine pond, and that sounds like a marvelous tradition. What are you adding this year?" He leans forward slightly with genuine interest.

As it is bound to happen when they meet, in the distance, Merlin will spot his red haired friend, and will raise his hand in greeting.

He's rather pleased to see Kvothe again.

Kvothe raises his hand in response, smiling at his friend. He's glad to see Merlin, too. "Hello, Merlin."

"It's good to see you, old friend," Merlin offers when they're close enough. He offers an arm clasp. "Have you been hibernating, then?"

"You could say that," he says, clasping Merlin's arm for a moment. Fall and winter aren't the best times for him. "It is good to see you as well."

Perhaps Kvothe will hear something that sounds like someone trying to play a string instrument - not the lute, though.

Johnny is out as well, later in the afternoon, considering the owl hours he keeps since the bar's been open. He's out in the sun, sporting sunglasses and practicing an acoustic version of Stairway to Heaven.

Kvothe hears the music, but at least at first will only listen from a distance. His relationship with music is odd at this point in his life (and despite the recent addition of new canon we still do not know why). He can tell that the young man has some talent, though he doesn't know the song.

Johnny is very focused on his practice, and after the initial intro feels solid enough, he starts to hum the opening verses.

There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven
When she gets there she knows, if the stores are all closed
With a word she can get what she came for
Ooh, ooh, and she's buying a stairway to heaven...

Kvothe is quiet, listening. It's a somewhat different style of music than he's used to, but he's interested to hear more.

Should Kvothe wander over to the godswood, he might find Eddard Stark kneeling in front of the heart tree, quietly meditating.

It's a quiet place, one that has a feeling of peace and uncanny presence, and even those who don't follow the old gods are welcome.

He can tell that there is something special about this place and he moves quietly as he walks through the trees. He's somewhat surprised to see Ned kneeling there, but he doesn't want to interrupt, though Kvothe is far from a religious man he doesn't want to interrupt another at prayer.

After a moment, Ned feels a presence and therefore stands, looking over to the man standing there.

For a moment, he opens his mouth, starts to say, Edmure, then realizes his mistake.

"--- Good afternoon."

"Good afternoon. I apologize if I disturbed you, I didn't expect to encounter anyone out here."
