We have a birthday today!

In a quiet corner, there's a little party set up. It's a birthday party, for a two year old Dea al Mon Warlord Prince. There's a table of food and drinks, and balloons (Aiden insisted), and all friends old and new are welcome. The rest of the Blood especially, they're hoping their extended family will show up. In the meantime, Aiden's racing

Aaron doesn't take long to turn up, and next to Chaosti, likely - light on his feet and almost not quite pleased with himself, for a few reasons. "I suppose I should be hoping that you survive this year. They tell me it's the hardest," he says, only a little smugly, but his smile is all grin.

Chaosti shakes his head slightly. "I am trying not to think about it. He hasn't been too much trouble yet at least."

Aiden choses that moment to run over to Papa, catching himself on Chaosti's knee and beaming up at Aaron. "Hi."

Aaron beams back at him, broadly. "Hi. Keeping yourself busy. Got that balloon yet?"

Aiden shakes his head very seriously and points back at it. Gabrielle smiles innocently as it bounces toward Aiden, he makes another grab for it and misses. Chaosti has to smother a chuckle as Aiden pouts.

Jaenelle brought presents. Of course she did! Jaenelle always brings presents. And thus, is teetering down the stairs with a stack of gifts in her arms, and beaming over them at Aiden and Gabrielle. "Aiden! It's your birthday, your auntie found you some things-"

Jaenelle likes to give presents. Sorry, Gabrielle. Though you're getting a smile as well. "--you too. I didn't have a proper Winsol this year, so I'm getting things out a little late."

"...Jaenelle." Gabrielle jumps up and rushes over to help with the teetering, behind her Aiden catches the balloon and holds onto it as he follows in his Mama's wake toward Auntie 'Nelle. "Do I want to know what all this is?" But Gabrielle laughs as she reaches to take a few of the packages to make it easier to Jaenelle to walk.

"If I told you it wouldn't be a surprise," she says, with a grin that takes up half her face, almost. She's glad to be here. "--hi Aiden! Happy birthday!"

"Auntie 'Nelle!" Aiden runs up to hug her leg, hopefully not tripping her up. The he points up at the packages she's carrying. "What's that?"

Lucivar's mood has improved, and dramatically. And so, he sees Aiden chasing the balloon and scoops him up, suddenly, with a laugh. He does remember what day it is, or near enough, and he grins at Aiden. "Hey, boyo, show me how many years you have now."

Aiden squeals as he's scooped up, laughing hysterically as he squirms in Lucivar's grip. After a few moments he stops squirming quite so much and holds two fingers up in front of his face in answer to Lucivar's question.

"That's not possible. You're joking, right? You're not two already." He gives a mock frown, sternly, to Aiden. Not meaning it at all. At allll.

Aiden nods, still grinning behind his raised fingers. Then he lowers his hand to hold onto Lucivar's wrist as he looks down, little feet swinging. He likes being up high.

Robb might step out of the kitchen and almost have his legs barreled into - or else almost step where he shouldn't, but he stops, startled. Of course, there's no mistaking this child for his sibling, but all the same -

Very serious-faced boy standing in the doorway quickly clears the path. "Careful, you'll knock me right over," he says, with the bare hint of a smile. Awww.

--and then notices the parents, and bows, at least a little. "Lord. Lady."

"Oops," Aiden says as Chaosti follows him over.

"Aiden, be careful," he says as he reaches to scoop up his son. "Sorry about that," he says to Robb, but he watches the young man with a wary look that might be surprising from anyone but a Warlord Prince. Aiden's eyes are just curious.

The wary look is a touch surprising, and still serious-faced, Robb blinks a little. But doesn't remark on it. It'd be rude. "--it is nothing. I have - had a little brother near his age, I'm used to it."

That, and Gabrielle in his head telling him to behave, makes Chaosti pause. "Had?"

Meanwhile, in his arms Aiden is still watching Robb. "Hi."

We don't think the Dea al Mon have ever met Jaenelle's Consort, so it was about time they did.

Niko's leaning against a doorway, observing the scene... and just smiling a little.

This is really cute.

They haven't, though Niko might want to be careful about if and how he says that in Chaosti's hearing. The Warlord Prince happens to be watching Niko at the moment, with the sort of calm wariness that doesn't actually mean anything personal, just a response to an unfamiliar face around his family. Gabrielle though has more of a clue after her chat with Jaenelle at the last party and she gives Niko an only slightly hesitant smile. "Hello."

Niko smiles in response, sketches a strict and polite bow. "Hello. I don't mean to be intrusive," he says. "But if you're celebrating... would congratulations be in order?"

"We are, a birthday party for Aiden. He's two. I'm Gabrielle, by the way, this is Chaosti. I don't believe we've met." She smiles at him, Chaosti is still just Watching from off to the side.
