(introduction) --- a mighty lammoth crushed against the rocks

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO--OOOOOOOOOOOOO--OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO--"

Her cry of pain flew with the wind and crashed against the rocks, falling in a thousand pieces over the earth, over the heads of the fleeing and the fallen. It rolled back and forth, telling her story of always being parted between duty and love, between family and memories, between so ( Read more... )

Finrod isn't quite sure for a moment that he is seeing what he thinks he's seeing when he's passing through the mansion later that evening and sees Idril. He's glad to see her, and he doesn't know yet the circumstances of her arrival. "Idril?"

Hello, surprise. Idril's first reaction of fear and confusion is too fast washed away by a wave of enthusiasm. She'll reach him in a couple of strides and, typist willing, place the kiss of greeting on his cheek.

"I thought -- but I thought --." Clearly she's not good enough at mastering words since she arrived. And since news of Finrod's sad adventures have obviously reached Gondolin, she had really thought that, you know.

Typist is willing and Finrod is even moreso, he reaches to embrace her when she comes to him and returns the kiss. "I know," he says soothingly. "It's a long story. But it is good to see you."

"My heart -- I think I've already been through many ordeals, and something tells me there are more coming my way. But at least I can be safe around you," she concludes. "Do tell me you have time to -- explain."

She's really hoping he might offer her some answers.

Let's not forget she met Maeglin. Oh my.

At some point, Idril will probably come across a quiet, dignified figure who bears a striking resemblence to her husband and her son. Elrond gives her a friendly nod, almost in passing before he notices something oddly familiar about her.

Earendil was but a small child when she was so cruelly parted from him, but the ressemblance to Tuor won't go unnoticed. Also, she'll more likely than not be broken when she'll learn that she's facing her grandson - at least that should tell her that her son did survive, did grow up, and did achieve many glorious things.

For now she bows her head slightly in reply to Elrond's nod, but something about him stops her on her track. Her eyes but slits under beautifully arched eyebrows, she purses her lips thoughtfully. "May I ask you to linger for a brief moment, my lord?"

He's Elven, yet --.

"Of course," he says, stopping and approaching her. He still can't quite figure out why she looks familiar. "I do not believe we've met. I am Elrond."

"No." She frowns, searching her memory, picking one face or another from the myriads she can remember. "We have not. Yet -- you remind me of someone, Lord Elrond. Of someone dear to me." A beat. "I am Idril Celebrindal, daughter of King Turgon."

This young fellow doesn't know much about the elves at all--he's met relatively few--but he's friendly and harmless. He can be found, if she's up to visiting the library, sitting at a table with a pile of books in front of him energetically taking some notes out of a book of Persian history.

If someone enters, he'll look up and smile, meaning to show he doesn't mind being disturbed.

Idril might as well wander there to find some answers, perhaps persuaded by Tsuzuki's comment on having read her history - the history of her kin. She steps in lightly, graciously, almost ghostly in her pacing manner and the way she bears her fragile frame.

To Armand's smile she replied with one of her own: tiny; barely sketched. She's still far from understanding what's going on, and the adjusting process has barely commenced.

She still seems uneasy, so Armand sets his work aside and stands. "Madame, do you need help with something?" He's soft-spoken, as much for the library itself as for her.

Idril blinks once, then twice, her eyes adjusting quickly to the difference in light as well. "I think I will be well," she reples softly. "Yet I am not sure: would this be the library?"

If she passes through the main room after dusk, she can find a large cream and white cat cleaning himself. He'll perk up upon seeing her, sniffing the air with some purpose, then get up to follow her.

After such an exhausting day, Idril has swept to the kitchen and prepared herself a herbal infusion - quickly but steadily, although wary of another presence. When she does cross the main room, she notices the cat and smiles to herself; animals, she likes. We assume few Elves don't. She stops and tries to find a place to put her mug on.

Altra doesn't try to get under her feet, but he circles her, watching with those large blue eyes of his.

She has finally eyed a squat table to place her mug on. After she does that, she follows the cat around with large eyes, then she finally decides to call on her. "May I have the honor of your presence?" she asks lightly. She can feel this is no usual cat.
