"I knew the same," he replies, "in Ireland. But this dragon is British, of the land of good king Arthur. She has proven her worth and goodwill to me, though a dragonslayer I am. I swear it on all that is dear to me, this one is not a 'creature of the enemy', but rather a goodly one." A beat. "And as you've been told my name, and that of my friend here, I would encourage you, good sir, to introduce yourself, and start anew, if you please." And looking at Iskierka - "Better, aye?"

Iskierka nods, extremely approvingly. "Much better," she says, and bends her head protectively over Tristan, still glowering a little. "But then you are polite and good to talk to."

Tristan looks up at Iskierka. "Do you reckon he's polite enough, my lady dragon?"

He's not quite being sarcastic, but there is a bit of defensiveness there.

Iskierka considers for a long few moments, and then snorts out a cloud of steam. "No, I do not think so."

Tristan sighs. Rubs his face. Looks up at the dragon.

He's not sure he can do more about that one. (Or he thinks perhaps he can explain without the dragon around - he's not sure.)

Up to you - he can try to discuss alone with Mae if you want, now, or later, or whatever.

Iskierka snorts after him, fairly pleased with herself.

"We showed him," she says, in a rather ostentatious whisper. "Didn't we, Tristan?"

Tristan is going to wait until the elf is out of sight and of visible earshot before he actually replies.

"I don't quite know what we showed this one, Iskierka," he replies thoughtfully. "Aside perhaps that he can be rude to a very large dragon, and walk away from it. I hope that alone gives him reason to reconsider his opinions."

She hisses, a little. "I don't care. If he is going to be rude then he can be rude, but he can't talk like that to me, and he wasn't polite to you either, and that is just - unacceptable."

Tristan sighs. "Perhaps that is the way of his people," he offers. "If this is significant, then we will know soon enough."

But he does intend to do some research of his own.

Did we have more to do with them here, or should we ftb?
