[Introduction] Through the Redhorn Gate

The mountain thrusts up before them like a knife: its peak is silver with ice and sunlight, but the lower slopes are the dull red of dried bloodstains. The path runs before them, narrow and twisting and treacherous, the climb up the steep mountainside sends the horses struggling and sliding toward the darkness beyond the cliff. Yay blond women who are cast as Claire Danes! (Not this one. But she often is.) "Oh," she says, quietly, coming out on the porch, and then, "Oh dear," and comes down the stairs, hurrying across the lawn.

"Are you all right? I'm not going to hurt you - I'm a healer."

It takes Galadriel a moment, and then she smiles more widely, touches her daughter's face. "I have longed to see you, my child," she says softly. "It is good that you are here."

If Celebrian pays attention, she might notice that her mother is a touch younger than when she last saw her...

"It is good to have found you, mother," she returns gently. Although cleaned up, it must be obvious that she has come to the Mansion through some distress; the events rest, only thinly veiled, behind her eyes and are perhaps readily apparent to her mother's insightful looks, and even if they were not, the cuts and bruises on her speak an obvious language.

She rests a hand on Galadriel's face and leans her forehead against her mother's, briefly, in greeting. "You must not worry for me," she says, aware that her mother will know, though whether or not she has herself has noticed anything unusual about Galadriel, she doesn't let show.

"I will ever worry for you," she replies, softly. "You are my daughter - how else could I be?" She smiles, though, quietly. "Your husband is here," she adds. "He will want to see you."

She's going to not think about her own issues. Or about the fact that her child's father is not here and she... hm... doesn't care much. Or something.

Ooops? >.< Sorry about that. Kind of got lost in the shuffle.

"He will see me." Celebrían's face lights up, and she takes her mother's hands, "but I would speak to you now. Are you well here, mother? And - not too lonesome, unless father is also here?"

Well, that was a brief reprieve. Galadriel squeezes back. "Your father is not here, no," she replies. "But my brother Findarato is, and many of my cousins. There is no room for solitude, here, unless I seek it."

Hmmm... I won't be in chat tonight, can you do me a favor and poke Jaenelle's typist?

*poked, like a bad girl* XD

Jaenelle blushes slightly, though more than likely it wasn't even meant for her. "I suspect I'm at least partly to blame for that-" Pause, just for a moment; "Would you like to be alone?"

Celebrían looks to her mother, wondering. Jaenelle has gone out of her way to show her here, and asking her to leave seems rude. All the same, she would rather spend time with her mother for now, a comforting presence if there ever was one. She is going to leave the decision to her, however.

"It is a very different place from Lórinand, here," she simply says, in a cautious tone, "as far as I can understand it. And as such... "

"Might we visit you soon, Jaenelle?" Her smile is fond, very fond, and grateful - "there is much my daughter needs to know..."

And indeed, that's a yes, but a delicate one, one full of friendship and of the knowledge that Jaenelle will understand.

Jaenelle blushes, ever so slightly, and bows her head. "Of course," she says, softly. "You can visit me anytime you like. --either of you. I'm glad I could help."

"Aye, it will be good to speak again," Galadriel replies, earnestly. "Thank you, Jaenelle, for all that you do."

"Indeed, thank you," Celebrían also says with a genuine smile.

Should Galie and Bri maybe continue in a journal? This post is getting a bit unwieldy.
