A long-awaited return

He had promised Galadriel that he would return to the mansion soon, and now he has. Elrond feels mixed emotions as he approaches the building, he will be glad to see more of Galadriel and he looks forward to seeing Maglor again (he has not yet heard of Maedhros's arrival), but he is less pleased at the prospect of seeing certain other denizens of ( Read more... )

After he enters (doesn't have to be right away), when he's near enough to the kitchen there's a loud crash and a childish feminine squeak of pain, the more banging and crashing with that same voice grumbling to herself. Duck has managed to dump a whole pot of canned soup onto the floor and is trying to clean it.

If he investigates, he can find her on her hands and knees, red in face from chagrin and effort, trying to mop up the mess with a wad of paper towels.

"Stupid Duck," she says without seeing him. "Stupid soup; stupid floors."

[Sam is the slow person, but she'll keep at it.]

He follows the sound of the girl into the kitchen, frowning in concern for the sound of pain. "Are you all right, child?"

Duck looks up, her blush even fiercer. "It only hurt a little," she mutters. "I made a mess, though."

He nods slightly, though he still glances over her to make sure she's all right. "It is fortunate that it wasn't hot enough to burn you."

"Maedhros?" He's stunned for a moment, Galadriel had mentioned Maglor, but.. He smiles slowly. "I did not know that you were here."

"I had heard of Maglor's arrival, but not of yours. It is good go see you again." He goes over to Maedhros gladly. "I am well, and glad that I did not delay too long in returning."

Well, aside from that one time...

hinya?

If he ventures into the library, he is likely to find a tall, slim, dark-haired young man, building up the fire on the hearth, from a fresh bundle of small logs in a basket. He may detect a deep, yet gentle darkness about the stranger, coupled with an innocent and gentle air.

Tsuzuki hears someone enter, and sensing that odd presence which indicated an elf has approached, he looks up. Seeing the stately figure approaching, he quickly scrambles to his feet and bows deeply to the lordly newcomer. "Good evening, your highness, I, ah, was just making up the fire," he sputters, awkwardly

"I am no king," he tells the young Edain kindly. He does percieve the darkness around him, but he doesn't seem to hold it against him. "But thank you, for your welcome. I am Elrond," he introduces himself.

That note of kindness gives him a boost of confidence and hope. He's not sure what it is about Elves that draws him to them, but he's relieved that one of them isn't regarding him warily. "I'm Asato Tsuzuki, it's an honor to meet you, sir," he says, managing to recover his wits.

"I do not believe I have seen you before," he says. "Have you arrived recently?" True he's not been around for a while but he probably has a good memory for faces.

Maglor will be curled up on a sofa with his back to the door. There is a stack of books beside it, most of them perhaps on modern music theory, and another one in his hands, but make no mistake, he is fast asleep.

Aww, Mags, says the typist. Elrond heistates a moment over whether or not he should wake Maglor before moving to his side, reaching to take the book from his hands so that he would not drop it in his sleep and rests a hand lightly on his foster father's shoulder to see if he would wake.

Fast asleep but easily woken, and he has not been among friends for long enough, so that his first reaction is a steely grip on Elrond's wrist and a defensive posture - as much as that is possible on the sofa.

"What?!"

Make no mistake, he did survive that long for a reason, even if it does not always show.

Elrond's startled but doesn't move a muscle, and won't until Maglor relaxes. He doesn't hold the reaction against him but he know's a warrior's instincts and knows better than to try to pull his hand back. "Maglor," he says calmly, with a smile. "You'll lose your place in your book if you fall asleep with it."

Probably a warning that Elrond recieved often as a child.

She's been getting bolder. Much bolder, and more so with Maglor's reassurances.

And she's out, with two twin elven babies in tow, one in the front, one on her back, and standing on the porch - Aredhel is happily taking a some fresh air.

I'm not sending Galadriel for now - she's talking to Maglor and is otherwise busy in a lot of threads, but she can tag in later when things are calmer. All the same, I wanted to send someone, so here's Ar, and I think she's never met Elrond... or am I wrong?

I think I'll send his uncles, too. >.>

He gives her a friendly smile as he approaches, voice fairly quiet so to not startle in infants. "Good afternoon."

Sounds like a plan, I figured you might want to do something like that and I'm not expecting fast threads on this post. Heck, look at how slow I've been so far. XD Take as much time as you need. <3 And no, I don't believe Ar's met him before.

She eyes the elf - curiously, but he looks Sinda, and people who aren't related to her, and who aren't Eol can't be bad, can they?

She smiles, politely. "And to you," she replies. There are questions in her eyes, but she's not asking them.

Delicious. I'm also keeping Caranthir away for now - he still has to deal/is dealing with the new arrivals. And thank you. You're always so sweet. <3

Except that he is related to her via her niece, but that's a good kind of related to her, we hope? But he probably does favor his mother's line more, facially. He keeps a slight distance between them to try to make her more comfortable. "I don't believe we've met, though I have not come here in some time. My name is Elrond."

Probably wise. XD Let him sort his things out and Elrond get settled in first. Cara we can probably do in a different post, or a log, or something, later. Galadriel too if you want, or you can just tag her in here whenever. *snug* I wouldn't want anyone stressing about tagging in, especially with everyone so busy right now.
