[Open Post] On the wings of song...

May 30, 2013 22:57

Mag has been holding off her concert preparations: the terror of the earthquake in the winter was enough to put her off these plans. At least Nick came through, helping her to safety, and they been with each other through the ensuing sojourn in Genkai's dojo and the reconstituting of the house. Things have calmed down and in the meantime, she's ( Read more... )

In this state of memory, some things take effort to remember, some can't be remembered... but with Mag, it's doesn't take much.

Typist allowing, Aramat will ease her hands around her sides, sliding slowly up...

"Mag..." We admit she's getting a bit frisky.

Mag emits a startled -- but pleased -- little gasp. "Aramat? Is it you? They told me you had disappeared again..." she says, her voice trailing off.

But the house is full of mysteries, and it brought her back before. Why not a second time...?

"I did?" She coos.

"Well I'm here..." Typist allowing, she'll kiss her on the nape of the neck.

She'll emit a soft sigh of pleasure at that kiss. "Ahhh... yes, some folk from the Shadow Angels told me that you had vanished from your rooms," she says. We wonder if Phoenix was one of them. "I'd almost given up hope, but... the house seems to have heard my prayers and brought you back to us. Are you settling in well?"

It's one of those moments of quiet, shortly after dusk, when Tristan and Husdent are keeping vigil in a different way. They are on the porch, and he has found a harp lying about, a thing made of excellent strings and strange carvings.

The crown is missing, but it is in playing condition nonetheless, and so the knight is playing a few chords, testing it, and him, out, under the dog's curious watch.

The notes of the harp will draw her outside, as much as the soft breeze and the gently falling darkness, and she'll pause on the porch, listening to the music. She might tiptoe closer, careful not to disturb musician and dog, and finding a wicker chair, she'll sit down carefully.

Tristan will play quietly, eyes elsewhere - he is not really at the Mansion when he plays, no. He is away in Cornwall, in the enchanted forest of Broceliandre where he and his lady courted undisturbed.

It will come to an end, though, and so the Cornish knight's hands will quiet, and he will remain silent, as if slowly coming out of a trance.

She'll listen in awed silence, quiet and even meditative herself, her own lovely head bowed.

As the notes fade away into the twilight, she'll sigh softly, gently. "Oh... that was lovely... like the voice of the nightfall..."

Well, if they've been playing music together, Frobisher might have had a bit of a preemptive heads up? Regardless, he'll wander in, leaning against the doorframe, cigarette on his lips.

"I was wondering how many poseurs your talent would attract," he offers by way of greeting.

She'll chuckle at this quip, friendly, even affectionately. "Perhaps between the two of us, we can shape some of them into proper musicians," she says. "But there's always those who are beyond training," she adds, thinking of Amber Sweet.

"Indeed," Frobisher replies warmly. Typist willing he'll amble over and kiss Mag's hand affectionately. "And who's come about yet?"

She'll beam on him as he kisses her. "So far, I have found a knight with a harp and my dear friend and one-time accompanist Miss Aramat, who disappeared during the winter," she says. "But more will likely come, in due time: I've only just made a formal announcement that I'm holding auditions."

Delilah has no idea what is going on: the script Mag used is illegible to her.

Yet she's heard music and she is curious, so she will be making her way to the ballroom, feet light as they should be. She'll peer in, skittish, ready to bolt if she intrudes.

She'll find a white woman in a long, antique-looking gown poring over a wide, flat book, but as if seeing the movement out of the corner of her eye, she'll look up. "Oh, hello there," she says, surprised at the company but friendly enough. "Were you looking for something?"

Delilah almost bolts immediately, but Mag seems friendly, as are most of the Mansion dwellers. "I heard music," she says by way of explanation. "Was that you?"

She'll smile, dipping her gaze modestly, then looking back up. "Oh, yes, that was me, going over a song that I might perform for a concert that I hope to hold later this summer," she says. "I'm Magdalen DeFoe, but please call me Mag."
