It's gotten quiet again after the earthquake that knocked over the house, and Ryuk has long since left his hiding place in a fir tree in the yard, returning to the Mansion and returning to watching the people and critters moving about the main room

Walking into the living room, he stops short at the sight of Ryuk. Alcuin has seen odder things in the Mansion, but not by much. Curious, he wanders closer, wondering what this creature is and whether it's friendly. "Hello."

"I'm Ryuk, I'm a shinigami, a Japanese death god. Pleased to meet you." And he might wave in a friendly way that likely looks odd on such a strange-looking thing.

Here comes the keeper of the Death Note, then - she'll be wandering about, when she spots the shinigami. It's only a courtesy visit, and she'll settle next to him, in perfect silence, robes settling neatly around Pandora's legs.

He didn't complain about the lack of technology, aside from a few quiet sighs, but that is the hallmark of his demeanor.
Instead, he focused on better hearing aides, periscopes and telescopes, all collected from the attic, and some awful technology from the 80's. He is trying to fix an old VHS Camera, and finding he really hates analog technology.
