Late at night, Dancy is on watch, as she'd promised Hisoka: she's not accustomed to working with anything like a team, but this makes up for the fact that her angel seems to have forsaken her in this strange place. It keeps her busy: idle hands were the devil's best tools, her grandmother always said

This being one of Hisoka's watches as well, he is patrolling the halls, katana slung at his back. He woud normally take a different part of the building than other members of the watch, but these October nights are chilly even inside the house. He has just just run up to his own fourth floor room in the east wing, near the stairwell, to grab his jacket. Still on the same floor, he is well along the hall leading back to the main part of the house when he hears the dreadful sound as clearly as Dancy does, and stops in mid-stride, trying to identify the direction. He turns towards it, jacket in hand, and then bolts along the corridor.

He may meet Dancy if she is coming towards him or if she catches up with him .

"We sure did," answers Hisoka, re-sheathing his sword. "Have you checked the lower floors?"

He's pleased to see Reese. He may be an ordinary human, but his skills could come in very very handy, if it happens that there is real trouble at the heart of this mystery and it's not entirely supernatural.

Cool! He's very welcome.

Dancy looks to Hisoka, her pale eyes narrowed a bit. "You know this guy?" she asks, just to be sure. Grown men can make her wary, after the time the police picked her up on the road, and while this guy doesn't seem like a cop, he's got an air of duty and strength about him nonetheless.

"Checked the second floor, seemed to be all clear: I thought that yell was coming from above, though I could be wrong," Reese replies, glancing below.

"Yes, I know him," Hisoka says to Dancy. "He's all right."

"It sounded to us like it was coming from below. Strange, huh?" he says to Reese.

[What do you want to do with this thread? Did you have any ideas? If not, maybe we could leave them to wander around looking for the source of the creepy scream?]

"I'll check the floor above: you want to double-check below? Two pairs of eyes are better than my one pair," Reese offers, looking up.

Dancy gives Reese another once-over, but thankfully, she sees nothing abnormal. "Works for me. We can see things you can't," she says.

Reese cocks his head, looking to Hisoka for an explanation. "What does she mean?"

"Sound like a plan," says Hisoka, to Reese. "And Dancy means that she and I have the ability to sense supernatural emanations, including visually. We're both monster hunters."

"Shall we go?" he says, to Dancy. He starts downwards, passing Reese on the way down, giving him a courteous little nod.

[Heh, I wonder what it was that was wandering around? It must have been something. FTB after your next?]

Reese might blink at this: so many strange people in this place, people with abilities he's only seen in movies and TV shows. "Well, I'll leave you to look for the things going bump in the night. Maybe I should start stocking wooden stakes and silver bullets: they even make those for a semi-automatic?" he asks, rhetorically before moving on.

Dancy might watch him leave. "He's in way over his head. Let's look where he can't see," she says, and she'll follow him down, wondering what the heck is afoot in this weird place.

Hmmm.... we shall see what might be afoot... FTB!
