The Last GoodbyeI have been away from HP fandom for a while now but I would really like to take part in that last Snupin Santa because Snupin has been one of my favourite pairings ( Read more... )

I voted for Naked, even though I wasn't permitted to view this protected entry. But I like the title, it's very, ah, evokative.

I'm probably going to take part in the last Snupin Santa as well, because my fic writing mojo has come back and I've got to take advantage of it as long as it lasts. Plus, I wrote two fics for last year's Snupin Santa, so it seems the pairing still works for me.

I wonder if being nostalgic for the good old heydays of HP fandom is simply a symptom of getting older. Y'know, back in my days the world was a better place and you kids get off my lawn. On the other hand, I haven't been involved in any fandom since that produced such a huge variety of different things, spanning all genres, playing with all kinds of pairings, pushing the boundaries of storytelling. The HP fandom has always been the one where I felt most comfortable experimenting - e.g. with crack and squick and weird porn. I never do that in other fandoms.

I just want to write weird porn again :-(

I've been in a couple of fandoms before and no fandom is like HP fandom and likely, no fandom every will be. Just the cross section of people here and the variety of things catering to every interest, I just don't see it in the current fandoms. They're also so Tumblr centric that you don't get that connection you get in HP. I've met so many of my LJ friends in RL and had I started in another Tumblr based fandom I bet that wouldn't happen.

I'm going to participate in the last SS too. It's never been my OTP but it's pairing I do like quite a lot and Snupin Santa is a fandom institution after 10 years. I really hope everyone with an interest in the pairing contributes so it can go out with a bang.

(PS I voted for "Naked" too)

Yes, the diversity of the HP fandom has been one of its main attractions. I mean it gave us Snapewives on an Astral plane, fandom doesn't get better than that. I'm currently taking my first steps on Tumblr, let's see how long that lasts. The huge advantage is of course that it's so easy to make posts, as you only have to reblog stuff, so it's easy to be active, unlike on LJ where you have to produce original contents.

I can imagine many people will like to participate. It's always been such a popular pairing. Not my OTP, either, but I'm fond of both Remus and Snape and they can work very well together in fics.

*G* Snapewives on the Astral Place is one of my favorite fandom memories and I say that as a one of Snape's steadfast fans.

as you only have to reblog stuff, so it's easy to be active, unlike on LJ where you have to produce original contents.

As someone who's still very active in HP fandom (although less so than I used to be) I love creating original content and the concept of reblogging bothers me a bit. I understand that it gets your work out there, but as an artist, the idea that your work gets reblogged while you never get a comment on it, is all rather depressing. It's why I've avoided getting into Tumblr thus far.

I really do hope a lot of people sign up. I can think of a few fans I'm going to poke as we move into fall, who really should participate. Here's hoping.

I liked The Addiction but I don't think I have to right to vote because I haven't read the others. I couldn't get to see Naked; for some reason it wouldn't let me in.

I'd encourage you to play more with the feminist themes of The Addiction. I could see you going there and it seems a rich opportunity for Snape to experience and weigh the pros and cons of his new womanhood.

To be honest, I really want to write a sequel to The Addiction, basically since 2009 haha.

I am planning to transfer Naked to my AO3 Account, because I re-read it and actually liked it-which is rare with stuff I wrote myself. Most makes me cringe, but I trust many feel similarly about their fics. I'll put up a link on LJ once I'm done :)

I already voted it, and the result is...... Well, you know. But I haven't seen Naked ever. I don't know even it exists. It's hard to find your precious fics for newbies. As I read your fic at first, I wanted to see the other fics too, yet I didn't know where I found them. And I can hardly handle livejournal, and I just finished to attend in AO3, it's not easy to attend several communities even they are very good.
So I wonder if you can list your fics in your journal or AO3 in order? Many writers have their fic lists in their journal or AO3(there aren't your every fic) I don't know even know how many your fics. If you make them order, every newbie of HP fandom in the future finds and loves your fics forever. Please consider it. I think if your fics are easier to find, there would be more Snack fans like you made me one of them.

My HP handle on AO3 is countesszero.

My other fics (Avengers, Avengers RPF) are under carolinelamb.

Not sure why I even began to compartmentalise it like that-I think at some point I wanted one account for my writing of better quality and another for self-indulgent, id, badfic :D.

Anyway, I have begun to upload Naked. First three chapters are up, the rest will follow :)

Thank you for your love and support! I am very happy and grateful to have people who read my fics and can abide them! <3
