I think karma has it in for me.

Fact: I appear to have sprained my left thumb*. This is problematic, as I am extremely left-handed.

Oddly enough, the only thing that doesn't hurt is typing, since I have the other thumb to deal with the space bar, and that's the only thing you use your thumb for when you're typing. So in spite of my random injury (which I keep exacerbating by ( Read more... )

Ow! Here's hoping that having it immobilized over the weekend helps it improve. (You know that as I'm typing this I'm testing to see if I use my thumb for anything. I'm lame like that.)

Looking forward to lots of fic? Or even the spam? Not that I'll have much time. My brother and sister in law will be in town and I've got 5 doz cupcakes to make. But that won't stop me from staying up way past my bedtime to read every word. (I'm lame like that, too.)

Good luck with one-handed cleaning!

It's a ridiculous injury! I'm amazed at how much I depend on my left thumb. Ridiculous. Truly.

Good luck with the cupcakes and the company. You surely won't miss much around here.

It's hard to feel sad about your thumb when it could result in more entertainment for us. I will try harder.

I should be offended on behalf of my thumb, but mostly I'm just amused.

Your spam brings me joy. Spam away! I'm actually trying to figure out how one tapes their thumb to their index finger without it being a major hassle. /random

Sometimes I like to tuck my thumb behind my hand and then try picking up a glass... /morerandom

It IS a major hassle! But it turns out that I spend a lot of my day writing with pens and stuff, which seems so *weird* in this day and age of computer technology, and writing makes my injury SO MUCH WORSE. So I taped that bitch down.

The thought of tucking my thumb behind my hand right now makes me want to weep. But I can't pick up a glass with my thumb taped down, so I get what you're going for there.

Well hopefully the three days break and your MacGyver-esque tape helps! :D ♥ ♥ (And wine, right? Lots of wine.)

ME TOO!! So very left handed!!! I broke my left index finger a few years back and it took forever to heal because I kept having to use that hand because my right hand is kind of a waste!

I hope it feels better soon!!!

That is quite worrisome to hear, as I do a lot of push-ups and without thumbs they aren't really very easy. (Hence I keep reinjuring myself.)

On the plus side, I look super-sexy with a giant wad of tape wrapped around my fingers.

Then you'll like even less that it still bother's me from time to time, like when it's cold or if I have to write alot.

God I sound old!

While I'm sorry to hear that you have permanent damage, I can't say I'm surprised. I have so many recurring overuse injuries at this point that it's kind of a surprise any day I go without some form of pain or another. Sad but true!

(Fact: We are old. It's depressing!)
