Denny Duquette picspam/recap (Part One)
Like every other Papa Winchester fan, I will admit that I was hoping for Denny Duquette's death on Grey's Anatomy so he had a better chance of returning to Supernatural.
But then a couple of weeks ago a strange thing happened, I actually watched the show. Okay, not the whole show but thanks to mcee who conveniently packed all of JDM's scenes into one neat little zip file, I got to watch JDM play Denny. And I fell in love. And then I cried because I knew he died in the finale.
So here for your viewing pleasure and my guilt-driven need to make a tribute, I give you a funny (well I think it's funny) narrated picspam/recap of Jeffrey Dean Morgan's stint on Grey's Anatomy as the dirtiest sweetest-man-alive, Denny Duquette. I've divided it into two parts and resized the caps so it's easier for dial-up users. Enjoy!
Episode 13 - Begin The Begin
aka the one in which Denny flirts shamelessly with Izzie
We start with Denny in a hospital bed. Denny has a heart problem. Denny is also a "capricorn, single, and loves to travel and cook" or so he tells Izzie (his doctor) in their very first meeting.
Denny also has a very dirty mind so he stares at Izzie (presumably thinking dirty thoughts - come on, look at that face!) the whole time she is explaining his heart problem to the other doctors (or actually to us the viewers since I would like to presume that real doctors don't go around reading their patients' problems to each other even though this is a teaching hospital). Anyways...
As soon as he's alone with her, he turns on the charm (by charm I mean clever blackmailing that he'll hold his breath and die if she doesn't answer his question) and finds out the Izzie is single. Which is good since he won't "have to fight [Alex] for her". See that smile? That smile says "You are obviously in love with me". Why yes, Denny we are.
And if you keep smirking like that, Izzie will be too.
Unfortunately, his transplant surgery is canceled because the heart didn't come through. And poor Denny looks all sad but understanding.
And off he goes to Vancouver to film Supernatural and get thrown into things A LOT to think dirty thoughts about Izzie at home.
Episode 19 - What Have I Done To Deserve This?
aka the one in which Denny returns and kills the Alex/Izzie ship
Five episodes later, Denny is brought into emergency (and conveniently puts an end to an Izzie/Alex make-out session involving a cupcake). The man is amazing. Even unconscious he gets his woman away from her "boyfriend"!
Half unconscious and struggling with pain but what does Denny say? "I was hoping I might see you. The things I have to do to get a girl's attention."
Then poor Denny has to be electrocuted to slow his heart down. Hello. If you want to slow down his hear, just make Izzie leave the room! But no, she agrees holds his hand through the whole ordeal instead.
And Denny screams in pain (though to us SPN viewers watching JDM scream in pain is like watching Dean smirk).
And to prove that he's still got Winchester blood in his veins, he says "Doc, I outta kick your ass for making me yell like a baby in front of the girl I'm trying to impress".
"I like the way you say fibrillation." - Denny
"Fibrillation" - Izzie in a sexy voice.
"Tease!"
Should reading really look this sexy?
*brain shorts out* Yes. Yes, it should.
Episode 20 - Band-Aid Cover The Bullet Hole
aka the one in which Izzie and Denny play scrabble
Denny pouts because Alex is checking up on him instead of Izzie.
And because Alex is feeling pretty insecure, he tells Denny "I guess I'll just have to settle on being Izzie's type".
Okay, I know Alex is telling the truth but anyone who turns this face
into this face needs to be hit repeatedly over the head with a bedpan. The poor man is dying! Let him have some hope!
Luckily Izzie comes to cheer him up by playing scrabble.
"Naughty word scrabble"? Denny hopes at seeing her put down "screw".
No. "I was referring to hardware not sex."
Hmmm. Screw....sex... *don't think naughty thoughts. Don't think naughty thoughts. Don't think naughty thoughts.*
*thinks naughty thoughts and licks his lips* This man was born to play Dean Winchester's father!
But then we are reminded (in case we forgot) that Denny has a heart problem when he clutches his chest and can't breathe.
He wakes up to find Izzie at his bedside looking very pensive and sad. She tries to convince him a get a battery operated pump surgically installed so he has more time to wait for his transplant.
But Denny say, "Izzie, I'm just .. I'm just so tired."
But Izzie convinces him to do it because "we need more time."
So Denny agrees because Izzie promises to be by his side and "it'll really piss off Alex."
Episode 21 - Superstition
aka the one in which Izzie kisses Denny (finally!)
We start the episode with Denny, Izzie (the girl he is madly in love with), Alex (her "off and on" boyfriend and Denny's number one anti-fan) all in a room together. Awkward!
And Denny the man with the corniest smoothest pick up lines you have ever heard continues to flirt even while in the operation room.
Unfortunately Alex doesn't like being pushed out of Izzie's life by a sick old man so he tells Denny he'll probably die in surgery. Okay, who let this guy pass the bedside manners class?
Of course Denny does not die though he does find Izzie crying in his room after the surgery because "she cannot fall for a patient".
Denny turns the cutest puppy-dog-eyes this side of Sam Winchester on Izzie and says, "Oh. Good luck with that."
And the poor girl doesn't stand a chance.
Awwww. *heart melts*
