I have a question about "Childhood favorite"... how is that supposed to work if you're looking for books we've never read?

Someone else's childhood favorite. Eg "my favorite book as a kid was..."

Does that help?

Not really because how am I supposed to know what other people's favorites are? But It's okay because I did mine without.

I havent read Brideshead Revisited before either. I was surprised how many books on the banned list I have read.

That one was pretty tough for me because as a librarian I've read a lot of them but I wanted to highlight that because I'm pretty against banning books :)

The Sleepwalkers is going on my TBR list! Sounds so interesting - a nice mix of murder and history.

Id like to reread Frankenstein. Its been a while.

Oh! Mr. Rogers! I have to look that one up. I have a soft spot in my heart for him.

I know, who knew about the Mr. Rogers one. And I never did read Frankenstein; I feel I should.

I don't get the hype around The Hate U Give... It was okay but I didn't find it spectacular

"Gone With the Wind" was such a sweeping story. I watched the movie with my parents when I was a kid, and the richness of the characters and plotlines was pretty overwhelming for a historical piece. I thought I understood the South's reasoning better after viewing it (although no, I didn't agree with it). The rich kinda remind me of the rich of the Capitol in the Hunger Games books.

Did read "Scarlett". Do not recommend.

Postmortem by Patricia Cornwell is a great book (and the early books in the series are really good... they kind of get worse as you move forward).

The Kathy Reichs is also really good but if you read it and you've watched Bones, don't expect to be like the show, it's better :)

The only one of them that I've read is Kathy Reichs' Deja Dead - it's been at least fifteen years though (possibly longer), so the details escape me. I do remember that I enjoyed the book. *g*
