All but 2 were unknown to me although I did recognize some of the authors names ( ... )

"Gone With the Wind" was such a sweeping story. I watched the movie with my parents when I was a kid, and the richness of the characters and plotlines was pretty overwhelming for a historical piece. I thought I understood the South's reasoning better after viewing it (although no, I didn't agree with it). The rich kinda remind me of the rich of the Capitol in the Hunger Games books.

Did read "Scarlett". Do not recommend.

Postmortem by Patricia Cornwell is a great book (and the early books in the series are really good... they kind of get worse as you move forward).

The Kathy Reichs is also really good but if you read it and you've watched Bones, don't expect to be like the show, it's better :)

The only one of them that I've read is Kathy Reichs' Deja Dead - it's been at least fifteen years though (possibly longer), so the details escape me. I do remember that I enjoyed the book. *g*

I read Handmaid's Tale back in the day and it haunted me for years, I can still feel the effect today. Cannot watch the TV show no matter how much people say I should.

I must have seen the movie for Gone with the Wind a number of times over the years. It was a truly great movie and I've heard the book is very good but the 'sequel' is dire! It's one of those books that really appeals to me even though I prefer science fiction/fantasy to historical romance/drama.
