Books rule!

- What was the last book you read?
Well two (I always have two books going at once, one a physical book, and an ebook that I read at the gym)
Book one: The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris
Book two: Seth's Broadway Diary, Volume 3 by Seth Rudetsky

- Tell us about the book? (genre, characters, etc)
Book one is a historical fiction that is based on a real life man who was one of the men who tattooed people in Auschwitz
Book two is a non-fiction book that is a compilation of Seth Rudetsky's Playbill columns

- What did you like/dislike about the book?
Book one: I really really really loved this book. Historical fiction, specifically Shoah related is my wheelhouse and I'll pretty much read anything within that genre. The book, while hard to read is very well written and I understand why the author wanted to do a screenplay of the story. I have one thing I disliked about the book but because it's a spoiler I'll link to my review on goodreadsBook two: I love Seth Rudetsky and his knowledge of theater history is ( ... )

This is a great idea! I usually only read during my breaks at work (too much other stuff to do at home), but an ebook would be great for all those moments during the day when I have to wait somewhere and don't have my current book at hand...

Oh, I think I have the first Lady Emily book on a shelf somewhere. I might have to move that up on my list. *g* (I love mystery novels, especially ones set in the past.)

I can only do Cardio at the gym right now (no money for a person trainer at the moment so no lifting or using some of the other equipment), so it's easy to ready for me :D

I love Tasha Alexander's writing and she makes her lead strong and not some wimpy female and there's a touch of realistic romance thrown in.

If you like historical mysteries, I would look into Sarh Jio's books. They switch between the past and present but they are so well written! If you like historical mysteries/conspiracy theories, I highly recommend Kathleen McGowan's Magdalene Line Trilogy. Alexandra Monir has written an excellent Young Adult historical mysteries series called Timeless; Christi Phillips's Clair Donovan Series (I've only read the first two though) are also excellent; Napoleon's Pyramids by Williamm Dietrich was really good; I enjoyed Katherine Howe's The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane

The last book I read was a self-help type book for people with Autism. It was jam-packed with friendly, helping coping tips! It's author, Katherine Highlander is autistic herself, and has entitled the book; Deferred Sunlight: Illuminating Ways Through The Darker Times.
It was honest, funny and realistic! A real roller-coaster of emotion, that I would certainly recommend. Even if you just wanted to get to know autism a little bit. It is full of insightful information. It is not just for autistic people!
There was nothing I disliked about the book; it was very easy to read - sectioned, and very manageable, the font was big and clear, and well spaced. As stated it was jam packed of useful information, and tips. I enjoyed the book thoroughly! I loved the book. 5 star rating!

Next I am reading, "The Endgame" by Jeffrey Archer. It's a short story from his year of short stories collection from December.

He has written so many books though! This was the first time I've read anything by him, I'm only a few pages in and so far so good! :) I only starting reading it to try and improve my end of year book total! :')

Thank you for recommending Deferred Sunlight: Illuminating Ways Through The Darker Times, I need to read something more like that! What other books have Jeffrey Archer written and what genre does he write?

What was the last book you read?
I'm currently reading The Screaming Staircase by Jonathan Stroud. Before that, I read Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie.

Tell us about the book? (genre, characters, etc)The Screaming Staircase is a YA paranormal mystery novel set in an alternative universe where ghosts ('Visitors') are a common phenomenon and various agencies take care of these apparitions. Our main characters are Lucy, Lockwood and George, and when their latest case goes pear-shaped, they have to somehow come up with the money to cover the damages. As luck would have it, a case drops in their laps that would cover the entire sum... so where's the catch ( ... )

Have you read the The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde? If you haven't, I think you might like it!

Thanks! I haven't read it yet. It's on my list, but my list is looooong. I have read some of his other books (The Last Dragonslayer and the Nursery Crimes), so I'm sure I'll enjoy The Eyre Affair.
