What do you think?

So, I've been doing the Twitter-feed thing here a little while and I'm wondering: what do you think of it? Is it good, bad, bothersome, interesting? Does it just fill your feed with impersonal trash or is it something you think I should continue with ( Read more... )

I find I miss a lot of people's tweets in the course of the day. I picked up this app from someone I want to keep track of but not vigorously enough to actually GO to their Twitter page regularly. I can easily check their blog, though, since they chatter about a lot of topics.

And obviously, anyone who comments here draws me to this blog where I'm apt to add something more personal.

i don't mind. :) right now, working v.o. as i do, i only go in to twitter once a week or so. i created my account mostly to namesquat, but it's served as a friendslist of sorts. with yours coming here, i can just skim over them.

and you don't use twitter to hold longwinded conversations with people. those are the twitter-archives i find annoying. though really, i wouldn't even mind them so much if i could have BOTH sides of the conversation! ;)

once i start commuting again (which is to say, next week! they're moving us all back to offices.) i'll start using twitter to log neat things i see on the bus, and i intend to use just such a program to archive them on my LJ. i don't know that i'll have people's tweets start going to my cellphone, though. maybe. i'd need to add a text package to my phone plan if i do.

I'll be the stick in the mud and admit that I don't read them. To be honest, I don't like Twitter and I've all but given up on it. I don't see much use for it other than to let potential stalkers know where a person is at damned near every moment of the day. I can't keep up with following even a few people, much less tens or hundreds or the ungodly numbers that seem to build up on the thing. I thought it was an interesting concept at first, but I think it's turned into a monster. I like keeping up with what friends are doing but not at ten minute (or less, God help us all) intervals. The way it posts replies to other people's questions is a pain in the you-know-what because unless you somehow managed to catch the original question, you have no idea what it means. While I like to know about interesting stuff in my friends' lives and I *hope* they want to know about interesting stuff in mine, I just can't imagine other people are waiting to read about how I'm dusting cobwebs, cupcakes I made, Colorforms, 12 tweets in a row about ( ... )
