What do you think?

So, I've been doing the Twitter-feed thing here a little while and I'm wondering: what do you think of it? Is it good, bad, bothersome, interesting? Does it just fill your feed with impersonal trash or is it something you think I should continue with ( Read more... )

I'll be the stick in the mud and admit that I don't read them. To be honest, I don't like Twitter and I've all but given up on it. I don't see much use for it other than to let potential stalkers know where a person is at damned near every moment of the day. I can't keep up with following even a few people, much less tens or hundreds or the ungodly numbers that seem to build up on the thing. I thought it was an interesting concept at first, but I think it's turned into a monster. I like keeping up with what friends are doing but not at ten minute (or less, God help us all) intervals. The way it posts replies to other people's questions is a pain in the you-know-what because unless you somehow managed to catch the original question, you have no idea what it means. While I like to know about interesting stuff in my friends' lives and I *hope* they want to know about interesting stuff in mine, I just can't imagine other people are waiting to read about how I'm dusting cobwebs, cupcakes I made, Colorforms, 12 tweets in a row about an ongoing issue with my church, the color or number of holes in my socks, or how my significant other is napping in a chair with the cat (just to cull from a handful of recent tweets). Sorry to sound like a grumpy b*tch, but there you go. Although Facebook is far from perfect, it's at least manageable.
