The ground floor had been arranged for the party. The colour scheme was, of course, black and white. It couldn't be anything else really. To go with the theme the food and drinks had something of the same colours - black pasta, white wine, licorice, white chocolate, black drinks, white drinks and various white and black foods ( Read more... )

"I'm doing just fine," said Mary. "The first week of school has been pretty quiet for us at the hotel, not counting Gunther throwing a fit."

"I have no idea. He kept yelling at me in German," said Mary. "Finally, one of the new students happened to walk in. She understood German and was able to translate for me. He wants more control over the menu or something like that, which I don't get because he's the one cooking the food. I just run the hotel, not the kitchen."

"No offense but Gunther sounds like a bit of a prima donna," Dale said with a small grin. "Though I have to admit he's an excellent cook."

"He is totally a prima donna," agreed Mary. "He used to work for my friend Delinda in Las Vegas and she had a knack for handling him. I think I need to give her a call and have her talk some sense into Gunther."

"Probably not, considering she now has Wolfgang Puck, not to mention that she's living with my ex-fiance," said Mary with a smirk. "She owes me."

Dale blinked at that. "Well, it's good that you two are on good terms then."

"It took a little while to get to that point, and it certainly didn't help that I was actually planning her wedding to someone else when I found out the truth," said Mary. "The distance between Fandom and Vegas also helps a lot."

"Distance can be a very good thing," Dale agreed. "Still it sounds like it was a horrible experience."
