The ground floor had been arranged for the party. The colour scheme was, of course, black and white. It couldn't be anything else really. To go with the theme the food and drinks had something of the same colours - black pasta, white wine, licorice, white chocolate, black drinks, white drinks and various white and black foods.
Emma had made checkered muffins. They might be safe for eating.
Music was playing in one area for the people who wanted to dance, and sofas and chairs had been set up for those who wanted to lounge.
Emma had dressed up in a white dress that covered more of her than her usual outfits and her hair was tied up. She regarded it all and saw it it was good. People could arrive whenever they wanted.
