Accused: Tracie's Story--

Aug 17, 2012 00:48

Just finished watching Accused: Tracie's Story. Like, I just finished watching it. I hadn't meant to do more than check my copy to make sure it was fine for watching later, and suddenly an hour had passed, and I was covering my mouth with my eyes all big and round, and I'd been completely sucked in ( Read more... )

It was such good, honest, work from all the performers, but particularly from Sean (I gather from a DigitalSpy thread that there was a Blades goalkeeper called Simon Tracey, but I don't know if that was a personal twist to the roles). The key was the writing, especially in the first two thirds (the final third had a couple of real suprises but was more caught up in getting to wrap-up the plotline) where we saw the faint dawning of hope in Tracey that her luck with men could be different this time, the way it made the rest of her world seem brighter/better...great writing that actually presented the actors with a challenge.
I will spit feathers if there's not at least a BAFTA nomination in this...and hopefully some more varied job offers.

NEWLY EDITED WITH EXTRA COHERENCE and MASSIVE SPOILERS:

I loved how The Lady of Shalott was used, so much. It's just- that one look to the real world might have shattered her, but she doesn't really regret it. I don't think Tracie - or even Simon - regrets having that relationship with Tony, no matter the consequences. She's just so incredibly brave and honest with herself, even though it obviously hurts her to be so. Just- the beginning, the slow dawning realisation that Tony isn't perfect, and then over and over, her hopes grow and fade and Sean is just so good with displaying all of it. I cried so many times during the whole episode. Just everything about it. He was so good.

I haven't seen it, but I did see a few screencaps on The Mighty Bean, and I have to say that Sean has a very nice pair of legs. :)

Am I shallow? Not sorry about it, lol.

Although I am not as eloquent as you, it's pretty much exactly how I feel about it. I just watched it for the second time this afternoon; I didn't have to deal now with recording sand converting and stuff. It's bloody brilliant and I am so proud of Sean, even though he only confirmed what I alwas knew; there's much more to him than meets the eye.

I was not one of the lucky one's to see Accused since I live in the state's and believe me I really tried to find awat to see it. But I only get BBC America. So if anyone would like to give me a spolier I would appericate it. Since who knows when I will ever get to see it. Since both Netflix and Amazon only have the 2010 DVD'S

With you all the way.. he deserves more than a Bafta... it was one of the most memorable painful excruciatingly awesome pieces of acting.... all the cast were brilliant, but Sean... god, those mirror shots. I died sliced into bloody shreds. And that last haggard painted smile in the taxi....

That man is the best actor we have - had - ever!!!!! and all those others can take lessons from his subtley, understatements, littlest hints that crash in and blows off roofs.

What a brilliance.... and the way he 'changed' from X to Y in the final courtroom scene. even his voice!!! He WAS!!! I can't stop watching, as I caught it happily on tape. Utter awesomeness.. and I do hope he will look at so much more of the 'different' films. He's so good anyway with Far North and then Hitcher and Outlaw... all so different men.But - this....?

Am just about recovering... obsesssed I am...
