*mwah* Thank you, govi20, for the lovely basket of flowers! They're so pretty, and really put a smile on my face. And thank you too, rubyelf, for the Planned Parenthood vgift. Such a great and important organization, I'm glad to see LJ supporting it. ♥I always forget how quiet it gets on LJ this time of year, and how the weekends make that even more obvious. * ( Read more... )

(Wandered onto this post via friends-of-friends, in case you're wondering who the heck I am. *g*)

You can do the same C&P formatting thing on a Mac using TextEdit. It comes standard on all Macs, so it should be in your Applications folder if you don't have a shortcut for it, and it works just the same as the trick you mentioned with Notepad. The only quirky thing is that TextEdit also handles RTF files in addition to plain text, and if you C&P to/from an RTF file your formatting will not be stripped out - I think the default behavior is for new files to be created as RTFs, so look under the "format" menu and see if there is a "convert to plain text" option. If it says "Convert to RTF" instead, then it is already plain text and you're good to go. :D

Thank you! :D (The base is from roxicons, where I've gotten lots of my icons!)

And I just learned something new from the comment below mine - I didn't know about Cmd-shift-V. That would be a whole lot faster than the way I've been doing it! :D I'll have to try that next time.

Simple: cmd-C the text you want and cmd-shift-V it in the place you wish it is.

Thanks! And that'll strip out the excess formatting?

Usually, cmd-shift-V pastes as txt only.

Uhm, I don't know how relevant this is, but I find that 'Paste Special' lets me choose what I want to paste as, and unformatted text is an option. Among many.

Summer is always quiet, with folks scattered to the four winds - I'm sure that some academic has done a study of the fannish seasons (perhaps a mix of t.v. schedules and the school year and perhaps something much older about darker nights and clustering around the fire to tell stories). *g*

*G* I imagine so. Still, as much as you can anticipate it, it's a bit of a shock when it actually happens, as if the echoing silence wasn't supposed to be so big. Or perhaps I'm just being melancholy. ^_^

I wonder whether there's an extent to which the wider community is now holding its breath, so to speak, waiting for the burst of energy when The Hobbit comes out.
