Guys, I'm going to start with a story about my refrigerator. Trust me; it's relevant.
We bought a new refrigerator a few months ago and I can't even tell you how much I love this thing. It's kind of embarrassing. My husband actually makes fun of my affection for it. It's stainless steel, armoire style, which means the freezer is a drawer on the

After re-watching the episode, I really think you've got something there. Dean does NOT look pleased at all. Plus, he looked almost surprised that the holy water had no effect. I'm really starting to believe that demon!Dean is still right there, hiding in plain sight. The whole scenario with the human blood lessening his demon-hood enough that he could escape the spellwork cuffs and exit the devil's trap, while leaving enough demon behind to make trouble . . . ? I wonder what would've happened had Sam tossed holy water on Dean in the bunker corridor. Dean probably wouldn't have reacted there, either.
Yeah, I believe demon!Dean is still very much with us.
Didn't Gadreel do something similar, i.e., pretend to be Sam in order to trick Dean? Have we got mirroring going on here?
Oh, darn you for making me think! I must go and ponder more on this.

Honestly, I don't think the devil's trap thing makes sense. - there aren't degrees of being a demon, just like there aren't degrees of being human - I just think it was a convenient plot device to get Dean out of the trap. I think they should've just used the fact he's a knight of hell and had him break the floor, like so many demons have done before him. All of whom were less powerful than him, I think...since a knight of hell's a big deal, right? I'm just going to pretend that's what happened because canonically that makes more sense to me. I think there ARE degrees of demon, because we know ( ... )

But isn't that more about power than degrees of demon-ness? I mean, Azazel wasn't any more of a demon than Meg, he was just more powerful. Or do you think because he was a demon longer, he was more of a demon than she was, since most demons were once human? I've never really thought about it as degrees. For me, I've always thought there's just that moment when a person stops being a person anymore...it's actually kind of interesting to think about.
