In praise of season 8

Wednesday I took the day off work to Get Shit Done, which invariably means a little time spent Getting Shit Done and a little time spent Watching Supernatural Reruns on TNT. As one does. (I'm home. It's on. What am I supposed to do, ignore it

I agree about season 8, pretty much. I hate the Amelia part of the storyline. Admittedly my biggest complaint is that she is a LOUSY Veterinarian. Some guy hits a dog and brings it in. It is obviously a purebred dog. Does Amelia make any attempt to find the owners? Heck no! She doesn't even put up posters or go to "Lost my doggie dot com". She tells Sam he has to take Riot, even though he states categorically that he can't take care of him. I've volunteered in animal rescue, you don't ever give a dog to someone who doesn't want it. You check references and make sure the poor thing won't be abandoned at the nearest rest stop

I loved Charlie in s8. She turned into a Mary Sue eventually, which made some of us dislike her or at least get tired of her. And yes, Taxi Driver, sigh. So pretty (purgatory Sam!) but so flawed.

Yes to everything! This is Sam's best hair season by far and I think his most casual short sleeved t-shirted season. I thought I was the only person who liked season 8, well, the second half of season 8.

Surely not. I thought a lot of people liked it. I remember it being called "season gr8."

I enjoyed season 8. I didn't watch this US live though, so there was no mid season hiatus for me and I think the lessened the rift between the boys a little maybe. It was Benny I wasn't too fond of, for no real reason, but the Trials were wonderful ;)

The worst thing about Season 8 were the damn flashbacks in the first half. So poorly implemented, so badly done. The minute Sam would get that faraway look in his eyes, my husband and I would cringe and brace ourselves.
