Silverthorn had stopped dead in her tracks, ears quivering, and Zusana turned irritably to see what was holding up her little sister. Silverthorn was staring into the dark woods, head cocked, wide-eyed, and she said, "I saw a lantern!"

Zusana's eyes flicked towards the woods, silvered in the moonlight, but she shook her head and reached for Silver's hand. The Lantern Waste was just a story, dreamed up to frighten little fauns- no one just disappeared into thin air, not in Narnia. The Kings and Queens had disappeared because it was a good tale, and they were the Sleepers in the Woods, now. The tales said that one day the Kings and Queens would wake from their deep sleep, and return to Narnia in its hour of need. Every child knew that.

"Let's go," she said, tugging on Silverthorn's hand.

[oops that got long]
