Five Things Cara Can't Stand About Watching Films in the Cinema

1. People who do not silence their cellphones. I do not understand how hard it is to put the phone on silent mode or just turn it off. It's even worse when they pick up the calls in the middle of the film and wait for it ... don't leave the room as they talk into their phones.

2. People ( Read more... )

I so totally agree. With all of them! You can't even imagine what nightmare it was when I went to see the last HP for the reasons you've talked about.

It's so irritating! I'm so glad I'm not the only one. :O

You've just listed why I very rarely go to the cinema anymore - too many disturbances and even before the advent of mobiles, I never liked them selling popcorn; too noisy when watching a quiet film.
My independent movie house is better, more serious movies goers in the main and not much mainstream shown, but even then, as they have a bar and restaurant within, you get idiots up and down getting drink after drink and bringing it back in now and then ::sigh::
Only ever go there or to a multiplex if I have time off in the week and can go to a screening sometime early-ish afternoon... but even then, you don't always get an almost empty room to you know, just watch and enjoy the movie.

I almost always seem to get someone really tall or a real fidgety person sit in front of me when I go to the theatre!

See, we don't have such places here. :( All the cinemas are in malls and all the films they show are the mainstream ones, most of it anyway. A lot of indies don't get shown here at all. :/

And the rooms are never empty since it's mainstream films they're showing. Gahh.

Hahaha, I'm not really short since most Asians aren't as tall as Caucasians and I'm taller than a lot of people I know but like you, I always seem to get the really tall people in front of me! But then again, the mall I go to is in the tourist area and there are loads of foreigners which come into the cinema and they're all giants compared to us, LOL, no offense meant. ;)

1. Oh god yes.

3. I must admit I have whispered some comments. I try not to though, and if something blurts out it does so very quitetly. But mostly I stay quiet :P
4. Gah.

I don't mind whispering - I've got friends who do that too. But these people are just talking full volume! DDD:
