So, on Sunday I went to this exhibition at the Tate.  It really is pretty bloody stunning, too.  The pugilist in particular made me smile- a broad, wide grin that must have made the gentleman next to me worry that he was next to some idiot.  I think a large part of it is the incredibly beautiful way that the whole gallery is lit, the way that the ( Read more... )

The best thing about it is that loads of people seem to take them up on that. I love being in a gallery where people are drawing - it seems right somehow.

that´s really cool. makes a lot of sense too to offer that - one can learn a LOT from drawing sculptures like that. :)

i remember seeing pupils sitting down in tate modern (in the permanent exhib.) and drawing after paintings and sculptures - loved that too - don´t think i´ve seen it over here...

I think it's quite common over here. I've done it unremarked in galleries in Denmark, but in Italy (where, admittedly, I tend to sketch outside - building fronts, etc.) you get treated like another tourist attraction the second you have a pencil and pad out.

I'm free pretty much any weekday evening...

Weekends are a bit booked up for the next month or so (apart from this coming weekend when I am relatively free) but after that I should be free too.
