So, on Sunday I went to this exhibition at the Tate.  It really is pretty bloody stunning, too.  The pugilist in particular made me smile- a broad, wide grin that must have made the gentleman next to me worry that he was next to some idiot.  I think a large part of it is the incredibly beautiful way that the whole gallery is lit, the way that the

The best thing about it is that loads of people seem to take them up on that. I love being in a gallery where people are drawing - it seems right somehow.

that´s really cool. makes a lot of sense too to offer that - one can learn a LOT from drawing sculptures like that. :)

i remember seeing pupils sitting down in tate modern (in the permanent exhib.) and drawing after paintings and sculptures - loved that too - don´t think i´ve seen it over here...

I think it's quite common over here. I've done it unremarked in galleries in Denmark, but in Italy (where, admittedly, I tend to sketch outside - building fronts, etc.) you get treated like another tourist attraction the second you have a pencil and pad out.
