What he says: It’s just a show I should really just relax

What he means: Professor Bobo clearly held contempt for his culture; while his initial interactions with Mike were largely him looking down on humans (and the bots) as “unevolved”, it becomes apparent almost immediately that he believes ape culture to be less civilized than he says. I have so many thoughts about Bobo that it's kind of ridiculous. Like I have thoughts about the others? But Bobo blows them all out of the water.

(I also have thoughts of Brain Guy choosing Earth because he'd really fallen in love with all the options there- the food that was edible and delicious, the people who were so varied, the chance to experience things instead of just observing them all the time... it took next to nothing for Pearl and Bobo to persuade him to stay because he didn't really want to go to begin with.)

He likes Pearl because her personal brand of cruelty meshes so well with his own (when it's not being pointed at him). He wanted to stay with Pearl and Bobo after the experiments ended because he really liked being around them, he and Bobo had at that point bonded really well and he liked hanging out with Pearl too. He's conflicted about his planet and people being destroyed and the last of his civilization living as raging Packers fans in Wisconsin because on the one hand, he loved his people and home and they'd been his friends for ages, but on the other he never would have gone to Earth if it hadn't happened, and he feels guilty for thinking that sometimes.

Also, he's gay, and while he never had a problem with that, one comment from Pearl made him reluctant to let her know, so one of his first experiences living among humans was diving into the closet. A very, very transparent closet.
