What he says: It’s just a show I should really just relax
What he means: Professor Bobo clearly held contempt for his culture; while his initial interactions with Mike were largely him looking down on humans (and the bots) as “unevolved”, it becomes apparent almost immediately that he believes ape culture to be less civilized than he says. He

(I also have thoughts of Brain Guy choosing Earth because he'd really fallen in love with all the options there- the food that was edible and delicious, the people who were so varied, the chance to experience things instead of just observing them all the time... it took next to nothing for Pearl and Bobo to persuade him to stay because he didn't really want to go to begin with.)

Ooh, yes! He'd love that!

Also, he's gay, and while he never had a problem with that, one comment from Pearl made him reluctant to let her know, so one of his first experiences living among humans was diving into the closet. A very, very transparent closet.

And yeah, even if one doesn't internalize it, "People in this place disapprove of your sexuality" can lead to awkward closeting.

Mostly I think he's gay because of a comment he made when he took some condoms off of Bobo- "My many lady friends will appreciate my caution". The way he stressed the word "lady", in this particular context, sounded like he was trying to convey the idea that he totally likes ladies no really (rather than a sense of "I totally get laid, no really").
Reply
Yeah, that's totally a "I date ladies who are female and definitely not dudes!" line.

Especially as he hesitated before saying "ladies".

"My many...lady friends! Absolutely not Todd who works at the gas station! Ladies!"

"I've never been to a gay bar! Not me, never!"

"I have not set foot in that nice place with the rainbow sign in the center of town, and absolutely do not recommend their appletinis."

"I have never gyrated to pulsing music while a man named Steve ground his crotch on my ass."
"Okay, that one was really really specific."
Also, re your Shark Teens comments:
Ugh, no, clothes over wetsuit? The worst. Like it's not like wearing a swimsuit over clothes, it's thick and dripping and just a nightmare.
This was meant to be setting up a joke about Keahi just not wearing shirts (it's gonna come up later that he doesn't wear a shirt under his hoodie) but I can always either edit it or throw in some regret when they're biking back later and he forgot to consider that and is just like "my entire existence is suffering".
Stasney, do you need like a chart of stuff not to say to girls? Because "You can't be pretty, you don't wear dresses" would be on it.
Stasney's really dumb.

"And I'm not just saying that because he prefers to go by Steven!"
He would definitely regret the wetsuit. If he's biking back in a damp wetsuit with cargo pants over it, he is going to be so "Why did I do this?"
Reply
The others dry pretty quickly cause regular swimsuits plus warm sun, and Keahi's just like "I am filled with regret and seawater."

Layer of water-retaining clingy foam+layer of thick fabric+bicycle-riding=such a bad idea, Keahi.
