what a shame! i can relate completely, though. My teenagers are the same way. Recently when we were in Sedona, Arizona, standing before the beautiful majesty of the red rock formations, they refused to remove their ipods and get out of the car. *sigh*

My husband and I travel alone occasionally (although he's not huge on sightseeing, but better). I guess we can look forward to travel after our kids are shipped off to college and real life?

I can relate to that one. For years before we had children we would never have gone on holiday unless I booked it and packed it (for him as well!)About ten years ag I took the boys to Cornwall on my own for a fortnight, MPH came down for the middle weekend. He had come straight from work and although he managed to pack jeans and a t-shirt he had to buy trainers when he arrived as he had his work shoes on!*sigh*
It's four and a half years since we have had a holiday as a combination of leaving an elderly mother and teens together did not seem fair on either of them. The other day I asked my 18 year old if he would want to come on holiday with us if we ever got the opportunity and he said yes if we didn't sightsee and left him to laze around eating and drinking!

LOL! Mr T always has to buy something that he's forgotten unless I pack for him!

Yep, I think we've really hit that transition phase as a family. I'd happily go anywhere with just ONE of them in future, but all four of us together ... no way! Luckily for me, looking after my father when my mother needs respite means making a solo trip to Scotland. I always enjoy that. : )
