Anything, please! Draconian Dignitary would be fine too, if you want to give her something more than words in her head to interact with.

It is said that inside every person, there is a heart of gold. This is usually said by the optimistic, naive, or those with the survival instinct of a lemming in a tornado.

The problem was that even if it was true, there were just some people you tried to superimpose a mental image of a 'heart of gold' or 'hidden depths' over, and it just did not workDiamonds Droog may have been somewhat of a charmer, but his unnerving talent for cold-blooded murder and his complete lack of positive emotion more than made up for it once people got to know him ( ... )

Hi! I'm trying to transfer all the fic from this meme over to AO3 so it's better archived and easier to read. Details are at http://captchalogue.livejournal.com/1365.html?thread=869205#t869205 It's posted as anonymous and I'm able to transfer any posted story to the author's account if they end up making one on the site later.

I've moved everything posted here by anons, but since you're logged in I figured I should ask you directly.

I can:

1) Put your fic up anonymously, like I did the rest of them.

2) Put your fic up and credit you as the author with a link to your LJ.

3) Give you an invite code so you can make an account and put your fic up yourself.

4) Not put your fic up because you don't want me to.

Unless you already posted to AO3 and I missed it, in which case just tell me that!

Something forgotten stirred. It was almost nothing; a small fragment of whatever shard of empathy he possessed, but it was enough to stir an idle thought, and then into an urging he transferred, through words, to his charge.

Make her pay.

At first, she had not taken well to the idea. It was...understandable. (Droog had gained an understanding of Aradia that could almost pass for some sort of bond, if you squinted and tilted your head.)

But by degrees, his young charge had learned that he did not so much demand as suggest, and this fact convinced her that retribution was something she was entitled to.

(It was trust, or some version of it.)

There was always time for revenge. It was a vice he had never been able (or wanted) to shake; he had an inability to let things go, and had never tried to curb it ( ... )

Yes yes yes, thank you! ♥♥♥

I'm glad I'm not the only sucker for them. The second I saw the smile/"Atta girl" page I suddenly started shipping them more than any other pairing in the comic, and was so disappointed when I remembered the "no adult/teenager pairings" rule on the official forums so there couldn't be a sudden influx of art for them there.

asdfga I'm glad you liked it :D and FFFFF YES just. Goddamn. I ship them in a vaguely mentor/student sort of way more than anything leaning towards romantic, but after that page I was just "oh gd it I ship them now 8|".

And yeahhhh it's a shame really 8( I want to see art of these twoooo. EVEN IF I DON'T ROMANCE!SHIP THEM, I STILL WANT TO.

All "Holy cow, she made him smile. The Midnight Crew doesn't smile. Okay, maybe Deuce could but he'd need to produce a mouth first."

I totally understand how not everyone would want them paired in a romantic way. Age-gap ships aren't for everyone! (Heck, when the younger character's thirteen they usually aren't for me either, but I just can never see most of the trolls as the equivalent of thirteen no matter how many times I'm reminded that they are.)

Well I'm assuming Deuce has silly little moments more than the other members of the Midnight Crew and probably smiles, but the rest of the Crew just. Don't. At all. Ever. Not even when they kill people or anything, for various reasons, but they don't actually seem all that inclined to showing happy in general.

Ahahah yeah it's hard to remember that they're 13 because they do all this stuff and they haven't got the recognisable facial features and things that the actual human kids do! Especially with Equius and Vriska being the way they are. And I can see the appeal, honestly. THEY WOULD BE ADORABLE FOREVER s-sob Aradia is the only person who can make Droog smile! Probably because she beat someone up viciously and Droog is just 'oh awesome good work' BUT.

...d-dammit now I just want to make them partners for some reason. /MAKE HER A MEMBER OF THE MIDNIGHT CREW

THERE ARE LIKE 500 OF HER NOW, DD, I'M SURE YOU COULD SMUGGLE ONE OFF INTO EXILEHOOD. SHE WOULD LOOK FETCHING IN A NICE SLOUCH HAT, OR MAYBE A CLOCHE WITH HOLES CUT FOR HER HORNS. A-and then hope that being an already dead robot keeps her from exploding or something for being from a doomed timeline.

I'm not going to admit how long I just wandered through pages of gangster-era hats to find what she might wear as a member of the crew that wouldn't look too much like Snowman's

Well he could possibly smuggle the alternate universe one that DIDN'T end up in a doomed timeline somehow by time travel bullshit.
DD: You hate time travel, but this was possibly the only positive result of it.
And if anything Droog would make very sure that she was dressed stylishly even for a robot. And teach her to play...something. IF YOU'RE IN THE CREW YOU HAVE TO BE STYLISHLY DRESSED AND BE ABLE TO DO DOUBLE DUTY AS A MUSICIAN TRUFAX.

And oh god anon I find your ideas intriguing may I subscribe to your newsletter somehow.

Heck, since she can presumably keep existing forever she could head off with him, hundreds and hundred of years later outlast the entire Midnight Crew, and then just pop back in time to get back to the fight against the Black King. Hanging out behind Droog just off-screen during "Make her pay" reliving fond memories.

Because she's no longer 0k with following orders I kind of imagine her suit having very thin, very dark (so you can't even notice them if you aren't looking closely under bright light) pinstrips, just to subtly thumb her nose at the black black black Midnight Crew dress code. And every time Slick notices them it drives him the slightest bit shithive maggots because it's impossible to stab her into compliance and he'd just dull his knives if he tried. Droog is faintly amused by the whole thing.

Ooh, ooh, I know exactly what instrument a psychic robot girl should play. The quintessential sci-fi instrument that you don't touch to play: the theremin!

Heck, this conversation's drifted so far from anonymous fic- ( ... )

Well it's not like the Dersian inhabitants really age or anything. They do exist within a game after all.
And awww that is strangely cute.

PFFT oh god I could see her doing that. Droog would just be so amused by the whole thing and Slick would just be sort of /TWITCH TWITCH whenever he noticed. 8|

Well that would add an interesting element to their jazz band. Saxophone, double bass, oboe, piano...theremin.

OH SWEET. /FISTBUNP
also lmao this may be kinda abrupt but MAY I FRIEND YOU

Every time the subject of Aradia's suit comes up again Deuce tries to use it as an excuse to pull back out his hat from their Dersian days. If she gets to break the dress code, he can make one tiny little change, right? It was such a nice hat. And the tension defuses (...as much as it ever does with these guys) because the thing on his head is so ridiculous that it makes everyone forget all about the pinstripes for awhile.

She just needs to keep her hand far away from the pitch rod and the tone will stay low enough not to stand out much.

Go right ahead! I would have stayed anonymous if I got upset about people friending me.!

Just jumping in to say that all of this is the best thing ever and I kind of adore it. I HAD TO LET YOU KNOW.

It's not fic, but I ended up illustrating the bit about her watching (and, as it turns out, doing more than that) herself making Vriska pay with my meager art skills.
