I live in Seattle now. I have a cool new job. I took a camera to work today and took a picture from my desk. Here is what the view out my window looks like.

I used to live in Uwajimaya Village across the way. I know exactly where you are. Bwahahahahahaaaaa!

I'm going to take a stab at saying you're on the 9th floor.

I'm Amber by the way. Hi! pedantka said you weren't a sociopath. Well done you! :D

Although you're a cheater for having lived in Uwajimaya, I concede that you are entirely correct. I am actually on the 10th floor, but darn good guess.

As for sociopathy, I find that while I do tend to somewhat disregard cultural codes, I do feel empathy towards others. Therefore, I conclude that Alana is probably right about me not being a sociopath. But I won't let it go to my head.

Hi Amber!

Indeed!

Well, I work near the Columbia tower (the tall black building on 4th avenue) so I see no reason at all to not meet you, say hello, and scare you right out of the area as soon as possible.

Mind you, I am on crutches, so I'll have to wait for the scaring...a little while.

Oh, is the Columbia tower the really, REALLY tall one that towers over the whole city? I can see it from my window. Neat.

Yes, meeting friends of friends is good. Especially while they're on crutches and can't hurt me. But crutches can totally be scary. It's kind of like how a really banged up dented car driving erratically is way scarier than a really nice and moderatley expensive car driving erratically. The crutches mean at some point you did something scary enough to get put in crutches. Maybe you got in a fight with a bear. Or a dinosaur. I don't wanna mess with someone like that.

Anyway, gimme a buzz sometime at brandonY@gmail.com

you're in the International District, across the street from Uwajimaya. the dalek-shaped sculptures are outside, ahead and on the left side of the street from your office POV. you are an easy walk away from the fabulous Big John's PFI (go out the other side of the building, follow 6th past the old INS building, and you'll get there)home of the cheapest fine imported cheeses in Seattle.

I'm really sure there's a joke here that involves both cheese and "EXTERMINATE!" but I don't know what it is.

I do not claim better knowledge of SODO than has already been exhibited in this thread - I just wanted to say hello. :)

Technically I think you can blame me for the visits of spazzychic and ironymaiden, as they are acquainted with pedantka through me. ;)

If you decide to retaliate for that, I'll point you to samildanach, my husband (and Georgia Tech alum) who introduced me to pedantka. (And then I'll hope he's around to take the fall - he slept, you see, and the University of Washington ate him.)

Welcome to Seattle! Be prepared for the dark. Late fall is a tough time to move here from latitudes south. We arrived Oct 27 2001.

Beer and coffee are the local weapons of choice against winter despair. If you and your rumoredly (or, given the source, rumouredly) lovely fiancee are in need of company to pursue such, give a poke to llyneATfoysDOTnet, or Jack at the same domain. :)

(BTW, we live across the street from the three antennae that can be seen at the top right of the above picture.)

(It should be noted that we call Llyne and Jack the Hospitality Patrol behind their backs. You'd be in good hands.)

Hospitality is good! Me and my rumordly* lovely fiancee don't really know anybody in Seattle, so hanging out with people is definitely nice :)

*Just checked and confirmed she is indeed lovely.
