Hang in there and call around! We have a dentist here in (wee, tiny, little) Roanoke that specializes in patient anxiety. They have all sorts of techniques to help you be calm. The initial consultation room is like a conference room with a quick sit in a dentist chair to check you out. When you do go in for work, they have burbling fountains and big windows in each room. They offer you a set of goggles and headphones that play a relaxation DVD so you can't hear anything and you're watching butterflies on the breeze.

And if ALL of that fails, they medicate ;)

Nicole is terrified of the dentist. I used to have to go and sit in the waiting room so she knew I would be just outside if she needed me.

On a totally different note: There is a genetic throwback in my family that caused my sister to have TWO full sets of wisdom teeth. One of my brothers had six. The bottom ones came in twice. Two outta six isn't bad, though!

OMG @ 2 sets of wisdom teeth!!!!!

Thats horrendous. I just rang the dentist and they are squeezing me in today as well as my appointment for tomorrow. They seem really nice over the phone and at this point I dont feel like being that fussy! I dont think im going to get relaxation music and butterflies lol but right now i would just settle for being painfree.
