Earlier this week, I was really frustrated. I was at Jon's house with Candace and Ian, and it just felt wrong. I don't know, it may have just been because I was insanely tired, which is ultimately why I went home, but it wasn't right. I never realize just how much my friends and I have all changed until we're all together. It's in Jon that I ( Read more... )

I remember every year dreading my birthday and the whole process of "getting older" and then finally one year I didn't. It was just OK to be older. Now I catch myself referring to myself as the next age a few months before my birthday. Growing up can be a scary thing and then one day it is just ok. It's weird like that. But I can also tell you this isn't the last such transition. I definitely felt like I was ready to move on senior year. I went through a lot of those same feelings with people and UVM. I was ready to move on. I've found the best way to deal with it is to keep your memories but not to hold on too long. Staying past your time has a way of tarnishing all the good you remember. Hope that's somewhat helpful.

I honestly think I'm past the help stage, but your comment is much appreciated anyway. I've made up my mind about getting older, and there isn't any going back now...unless someone invents a time machine. Man, that would be cool.

I don't believe in time travel, but I'm odd like that. I can agree that if possible it would be super cool. There's a few things I'd like to go back and change. But growing up should be enjoyed not feared. Yes things change, but there are great times ahead of you. With all this talk of past and future, don't forget to take sometime and enjoy now. :-)
