Time for more Avengers plotting because it's been nearly a week and we needed to get these thoughts organized.

Looks like, organizationally, we're hitting up against one big question that folks have had various ideas about. Formally split the team, or leave it together?

Our current roster (going from the tags on the meeting log, and if that's missing anyone, please let me know!) is Bobbi, Luke, Natasha, Spidey, Hank, Pietro, Bob, and Thor. That's pending Danny and Tony's return, of course, and I guess there are apps in the pipeline for Clint and Steve, huh? And I think Jessica might've been a maybe, depending? But right now we're looking at eight people. Just enough for a regular filter, though we've already established that Spidey and/or Hank could hack a bigger one. I think that was part of the concern surrounding a single team.

But anyway, that is 8-13 members, and that can be tough to coordinate in one fell swoop, so obviously the Avengers will rarely work together as a single mass unit and will need some degree of division.

There is a case for a New/Classic split, if we wanted to have each team focus on different purposes, one fighting street crime, the other super-crime or whatever.

Personally, I'm not really a fan of the idea because it would limit CR potential between members who'd end up on different teams. That said, I like the idea of mini-squads, where we could have different pre-defined teams for different situations and strengths, but also have everyone assigned to some kind of balanced team (i see them being made up of three or four people) where their strengths would all complement each other.

To me, the main difference between formal and organizational splits is fluidity. The divisions can't be rigid, and if someone wants to tag along with a squad they aren't a part of, or if there's some log where folks who aren't in any kind of the same squad want to do something to together, then that sort of thing should be perfectly cool. Sometimes we won't all be able to work a log when the rest of our squad wants to, or there may be other issues involved, like timezones, but this way people can play along without being too locked in, idk.

Like, the main reason we'd want to create squads would be to streamline plotting, so we could just say "oh hey this is happening, does b-squad want in on this" and easily ave that kinda thing worked out, and the fluidity comes into play when, like, someone from b-squad can't make it, or someone from c-quad wants in on it, or all we have available ic or ooc is two people from a-squad and one each from b- and c-squad. But also, since they're all still one team, you still have all these opportunities for a science squad or a flyers squad or a street squad or a strength squad without having to worry that the people on each of those squads are on separate teams. I don't know, am I babbling or does that make sense?

Also, Alex suggested we have monthly posts to give opportunity for people to change squads of whatever moving around of pieces we may be considering (though they'd be free to make that kind of move at any time, this would be kind of an extra reminder of the ability), and those would be good times to encourage prospective new members to join. I think most of us liked that one, so we'll prolly go with it, yeah?

Also, just a little reminder in case it wasn't clear, the team is also open to Young Avengers, Avengers: The Initiative, and Avengers Next cast members! We're thinking about some kind of junior/intern league (which James Rogers and Kate Bishop are currently the roster of), but we're open to hearing what kind of ideas you might have if you're interested in such a thing!
