Mark set his feet on the ground after a brief moment to take a look around from a higher point of view. Inviting people (namely friends) for a night of patrol was more of an excuse to spend time with them while getting some crime fighting done. Besides--since having discovered that the Porter had granted him his invulnerability back? It was safe to say that he was a lot more predisposed to take the bad guys on.

"Not too bad. Kinda slow." He took a few steps toward Brenda, still at a considerable distance, hands resting loosely on his sides. It was funny--he could remember when she'd asked him for How Does I Superhero lessons all those months back. "What about yours?"

"Dishwasher in my apartment broke." Brenda sighed, shrugging and coming up little closer to mark, flipping up the faceplate of her helmet so she could meet his eyes properly.

"So that was a pain in the butt. I could replace it, but debated the cost of doing that or doing dishes by hand and decided I could cope with wrinkled fingers over a three hundred dollar hit to the pocket book."

She smiled. "Other than that, dead boring. Work is work, crime is avoiding me like the plague."

And lo, the crash of a breaking window around the corner.

"... speak of the devil. Was that all I had to do to get some action around here?"

"Yikes." A pause. He remembered the last time he had gotten to wash the dishes with his father, but Mark smiled at the last statement and opened his mouth to reply before the crash was heard. An immediate change in his expression took place.

"If only everything were that easy." A pause, as he started to move. The sound didn't seem all that distant, so he figured each of them could get there by their own means. "I'll go on ahead. Meet me there?"

"I'll be there in five. You tenderize them for me." Brenda grinned, nodding for him to take the head start, then setting off at her own run.

She'd been itching for something to take out a bit of tension with all week...

Mark beat her there no problem of course, so when she arrived a few minutes behind he was already in the thick of handing a few looters their collective butts. They were nothing impressive, thugs in stocking masks (how did anyone think they could get away with petty crime still in a city like this one?!) so Brenda didn't pause before taking a run at one of them and grappling the guy to the ground.

Unfortunately that brought his buddy who has slipped out of Mark's grasp over to Brenda. He wound up for a punch... and sunk his hand right through the back of her head.

Brenda, likewise, sank through the man she'd be straddling. Her knees through his hips and her hands in his chest.

"M-MARK?!?!Her voice cracked with panic and she forgot to call him by his alias completely ( ... )
