Ness often indulged himself in a walk through the park before went home in the evening. When he saw Rue letting the raven out of the box, he headed over to satisfy his curiosity.

"Hi," he said as he came near, friendly smile in place. He really like spending time with animals, so he hoped the girl wouldn't mind his presence...

Rue jumped when she heard the boy's voice, having been a little too focused on Wolfgang's seeming lack of interest in flying all of the sudden. Resisting the urge to snap at him for frightening her, she turned around, giving him a brief smile.

"Hello," she said, eyes going to the raven again as he squawked at the stranger. "Can I help you?"

"Um, I just wondered about your bird. Is it a pet?..."

Ness was certainly nothing if not polite.

"He's just a bird," said Rue. She didn't believe in the concept of pets. And, she wasn't ready to claim ownership to him just yet, even if she had given him a name.

He knew he was cutting it close taking Rex for a walk this late, especially considering they were going to have a surprise party for Ness. Still, he couldn't resist giving the little snake-tailed puppy whatever he wanted, and it only seemed fair to give him a walk.

He didn't notice the older girl and her raven, and came dangerously close to bumping into her as he passes her. And he doesn't even bother to acknowledge that he does, completely absorbed in talking to and playing with his dog.

Unfortunately, the raven didn't quite agree. He fluttered over to the dog, hiding behind it and peering at his tail. After a few more hops around it, he gave the tail an inquisitive bite, tugging at it in an attempt to get it loose.

"Wolfgang, stop that!" Rue called as soon as she saw him bite him, but the raven went on ignoring her, determined to figure out this mystery.

Dynamus' dog head tried to get to the raven, barking and snapping at it but unable to circle around enough to catch it.

Pokey took a stance too, kicking at the raven when he could and missing. "Hey! Get out of here, stupid!" the boy shouted, trying to get the raven away from his pet.

Finally, the tail had had enough and, leering up, hissed and struck out at the raven.

Wolfgang squawked loudly and fluttered away, landing next to Rue and cawing at her in a way that seemed almost pathetic. She looked down at him and sighed.

"Serves you right," she said. "I told you to stop."
