The Deus Ex Machina II had been 'stolen' from Osborn's facility without a single hitch, and had been significantly improved since it last went into battle against the HIVE. Now the enormous high-tech zepplin hung low over the City's downtown, spewing missiles, turrets scanning the sky for any threats. Behind the large observation window slung beneath the DEM II's vast gasbag, the madman responsible for so much chaos and suffering watched and laughed as his dreams- and everyone else's nightmares- approached reality. It was a formidable target... and also one that had to be taken down if Operation Gotterdammerung was to be thwarted before it was too late.

First dragons, now this. Anna sighed and looped around for another pass, her weapons still hot: on one wrist, the Golden Compass, an energy multiweapon; in the other, the Sun Shattering Bow of the Archer, less a crossbow than a machine gun that used a chu-ko-nu for it's design idiom.

"No rest for the weary, then," she says. "Maybe a little more firepower's in order."

Her fists radiate with power for a second, then grow bigger, with edged knuckles, and piston-fired triphammers.

Then she boosts right for the thing, waiting to get to range.

The Shadow is pushing Little Nellie as hard as he can, and then some. The small craft, armed to the teeth sans one missile used in its escape, speeds through the air toward the ship he classes as an updated zeppelin.

A craft his size means he's particularly maneuverable as he wildly yanks the little gyro through the air, noting the reign of terror the airship is raining down on the city. The ship is huge, and to bring it down in the city limits appears to his mind as poor idea. Disabling it's ability to threaten the city is now his goal.

He aims to gain as much distance as he can before launching any of his own attacks on the turrets that will certainly provide quite a challenge.

Purple streaks across the sky as several missiles explode from the impact of Nightstar's starbolts. There were tons of missiles, more than plenty for anyone who wanted to take them on. Which...was a little worrying to Nightstar. Plus, she realizes, simply blowing them up might be a problem in terms of collateral below.

Good idea to find a comrade in the skies. She begins to fly again, looking for anyone who might be in the vicinity. Then again, it would be her luck if it turned out everyone who could fly ended up going to intercept the bomb down south. Not that she blamed them. It would just be her luck.

IN DEFENSE OF THE MAC; Shounen Vampire Throwdown!! holeheart April 16 2010, 23:18:38 UTC
[[For all ya'll who decided to defend the MAC! We got missiles and vampires!Shiro had found a comfy place on the floor of his and Ichigo's apartment to lie on his belly and mess around on a laptop he'd managed to buy (or steal. No one was really sure). He was chewing on something, something that looked to be a stick of a lollipop. Killinator was sleeping peacefully next to him, her fluffy chest rising and falling with each deep breath. All in all it was an extremely peaceful sight for containing a vicious monster ( ... )

Sanji had just gotten home from the club, and barely got his tie off when the explosion shook the entire building. He instinctively ran to the nearest window to try to look out and discover the source, craning his neck this way and that. It was difficult to tell, but something had hit the building, apparently. It reminded him vaguely of cannon-shot.

Well, that thought sent Sanji out into the hallway, looking to see whether his crewmates or any neightbors knew anything better.

Roberto had been flying as fast as he could around the City to see what areas needed help, and the MAC was the closest place to the Institute. With his fists glowing, he started to absorb as much as the heat from the explosions as he neared, allowing him to get close to the flames to look for survivors.

"HEY! Anyone still alive in there!?

Sally had been leaving the club with her nightly containers of food to disperse when the explosions occurred. Her force field went up and she quickly skidded towards the MAC, seeing the smoke rising from the building in the distance. The shield should protect her from any fire and smoke once she was inside.

"Try to stay close to the ground," she called out as she stepped into the building. Smoke inhalation was one of the biggest threats during a fire.

Yoite had been napping on the roof, when he had awoken to see something approaching and then the sound of breaking glass. Creeping along the roof, he slipped quietly in a window, closing it behind him, so that no one could enter without it being heard. A surprise attack was always bad after all. After the time being one who had used surprise attacks to his advantage along with Yukimi and the others, he knew that ( ... )

"Alright. Who else is in the house? Do you know?" Yoite asked, more quietly than normal, barely a whisper. He was normally quiet, but even more so right now. He normally wouldn't talk when sneaking around, but he wasn't with other ninjas who got the idea simply from a look, or the motion of a hand. Things were bit more difficult like this, but he was used to difficult. The end of his life back home had been difficult too.

The look on his face did say that he was really concentrating though, emotionless and focused. "If I have to use Kira, I'd rather not have the others see it..."

Edna's compound daaaaaaahling April 16 2010, 23:40:15 UTC
Edna had seen the comm post earlier and knew something was about to happen. She had done her part, getting the heroes ready. It would have to be up to them to take care of everything now.

That was her theory at least until her first proximity alarm went off. Was it a super coming for some last second supplies? Edna hopped down from the table leaving her tea cup behind to look at the monitor.

"W..What?!" That wasn't a super, or rather 'those' were not supers. Those were a lot of definitely not supers.

"Oh is that the way it is, dahling?" Edna said to herself. Her security wasn't finished yet, it could take out a few but probably not all. Oh well, it was time to test them out. She yanked on a red lever by the door setting the compound and the lawn in full lock-down mode.

Very little got Salaak out of the Warrior's Bar basement. Missiles, threats of nuclear war, and multi-target assault? Well, that had him all but leaping out the door, best he could with those awkward human legs. He didn't wait for confirmation on anything until he was in the air, two of the handful of communicators he possessed in tow, rattling off the updates on-network as they came in while he opened a channel in the others. He should've been more adamant about check-ins, dammit. But now wasn't the time.

"This is Lantern Salaak of the Green Lantern Corps," he announced as he zipped overhead towards the nearest, most congested area of the city targeted. "En route to the nearest hazard zone, coordinates pending. Gardner, Rayner, Iolande: report in immediately with your status and situation. Those of you not currently engaged make your way to my location, I'll ( ... )

Brenda had been inches from pressing the bell when the lawn suddenly sprung up with lasers, something generally considered a bad sign when one came to Edna's house for a helmet repair. She'd been hoping Edna could squeeze a fast fix in for her before all the chaos the comms had warned of hit but...

Well, no luck with that.

GOD she hated zombies!

Brenda slammed the buzzer with her palm, pulling on her helmet despite the crack in it's side and making sure her gloves were on firmly.

"Hey E? This is Anger Girl out here, I'm not with the horde I promise. I'm gonna, uh, scale your fence okay? Don't electrocute me if you can help it?"

And with a few steps of running to get up speed she leapt up as high as she could on the fence and started to climb the bars for all she was worth.

Edna was surprised when her door buzzer rang. Since when did minions use the door bell.

"Anger girl?!" E all but shouted into the buzzer. Her security systems wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a super and a villain.

"DAHLING!" she yelled when Brenda landed on the fence. "I can't open the gate, dahling!" She pressed another button opening the gate. "Quickly, dahling. I don't want anyone else getting in."

TITANS TOWER wantsapprentice April 17 2010, 00:27:00 UTC
As promised, while Slade himself is in Washington, he sends his minions to attack Titans Tower. It's a familiar scene for those who were around last time, but there are several differences. For one, there are even more robots than last time, and they are much more durable. The ninjas are heavily armed, their coding encrypted, and everything has been upgraded with Cybertronian technology. A cybernetic worm tears its way out of the ground with a screeching roar, its target in sight.

Let the attack commence!

What is it about villains and weekends? Jaime thought idly. Completely off-task, sure, but it was that sort of thing that kept him from focusing on the queasiness that came with the adrenaline rush. He rocketted through the sky, the airship fainly in sight, Scarab logging the distance and long-range combat options as he went. The Blue Beetle was a bit more lax with his weaponry restrictions this time; that crazy kraut had nukes in Washington, for crying out loud! He had to go down hard.

Scarab chirped round after round of updates on and off-network: he'd know who was on their way, too. Good. The more the merr-

Another update.

"Awwwww CRAP."

Jaime veered sharply, heading south. It was deja-vu all over again! Well, almost. Scarab noted the fresh augmentations and upgrades to the robotic cannon fodder and that giant worm.

"Oh, no you don't!"

For one, the tower was in a heavily-residential area. Those people needed help fast. For another? He'd just gotten the hang of Left 4 Dead 2. Nobody was messin' with the game room ( ... )

At that screeching, Gar had attempted to get out of the Tower discreetly in the form of a rat. It would be good for nibbling wires, too, except... Well, the freakin' Sladebots had gotten a super-makeover.

His comm. was left inside, what with the no-pockets issue that came with being an animal. He saw Blue Beetle overhead, however, which was pretty awesome timing, considering that Jaime didn't really live at the Tower.

Right! Smashing/ripping them limb-from-limb might have to do it! He shifted into a lion, starting with a heavy lunge toward the humanoid robots, all the while attempting to call clearly to Jaime, "Down here!" You know, just to let him know that he was around.

The giant worm... Well, he'd broken into the last one by crushing it. He'd figure that one out in a minute.

Kory tore out of the Tower as soon as she heard the noises, smashing into the first wave of robots. It was almost a relief to find that they were such and she could completely let loose, the bloodlust taking over as she tore and blasted through the swarms before breaking loose to try and cut the worm down to size with a few full powered starbolts

Catching sight of Gar and Jamie, she flew down, ripping through one robot attempting to sneak up from behind. "Beast Boy! Blue Beetle! What is all this?!"
