Pre-Showdown: Nico-Gert-Mark-Pete-Santo bossisawitch March 1 2010, 20:49:34 UTC
[ the meet-up point that she texted to all involved parties is just outside of ye olde warehouse district, a street corner hedged in by a partially destroyed brick building. Nico's in loose black clothes and boots that mean business, the Staff already summoned and at hand ]

[Gert's just leaning against Old Lace, scowling. The dinosaur does not look happy, either.]

[Pete's squad car skids up next to the curb. He turned the siren off about 3 blocks ago. He still appears to have a skull for a head.]

[After a very loud thud that sounds oddly like a rock man jumped off the roof of a nearby building, Santo rounds the corner and arrives at the meeting area. And hey, he's not even in costume! That's...kind of subtle.]

Team Underage Delinquents + Pete vs. Victorious; determine your own order akjsf bossisawitch March 1 2010, 21:32:57 UTC
[ Nico tugs nervously at her sweater's zip pull, securing it under her chin. ]

It's now or never. Remember: I'll lead in. Keep your heads down and try to get to the Wasp.

[ her eyes flash briefly red as she raises the Staff ]

Meam amare matrem.

[ her body shifts, growing taller and older until she is a ringer for Marianella Mancha, Victor's mother ]

[ The transfer was going poorly. Henry Pym was too deeply unconscious - ironically, the one man he had the most data on had turned out to have a woefully inaccurate medical profile - between the self-experimentation and his long sojourn among the Skrulls, he should not have been surprised. The sedatives had laid him out cold. And the alternate van Dyne's mutant metabolism had cleared her dose of the drug far too quickly. Victorious' face hurt where the woman had struck him. He'd spent too much energy over the last week, with no food, almost no rest - he wasn't designed for such a desperate, short-term plan and it was starting to show. ]

Please stop struggling, Janet. This outcome is inevitable. If you shrink I'll just stun you again and start over.

[ There was an electromagnetic anomaly nearby. He had to ignore it. Just another few minutes. Then a dull thud, and dust fell from the roofbeams. He ground his teeth and turned towards the door. Just one woman, a civilian? He lifted a scrap of metal in a magnetic field, prepared to hurl ( ... )

[The electronic anomaly is waiting just outside the door, being a disturbance in the force.

But: mommy issues. He gets it. Wait for the signal. Get Jan. Jan is the important thing. As long as Jan's alive.

If she's not: all bets are off.]

[Gert is also standing by with Old Lace, prepared to strike pending the outcome of Operation: Mama's Boy. She's trying to be stealthy about it. This is the Victor that killed her, after all, which is something she keeps thinking about the more she tries not to.]

[Pete takes great pleasure in melting the wall of electronics. The shocking devices on Janet and Hank short-out. For a moment Pete considers pressing a hand crackling with electricity against the Jan-bot's face and melting it off, but he can't bring himself to. Just in case. He doesn't know.]

Jannie, baby, are you okay?

[Pete's skull doesn't look very concerned: it has no facial expressions. But Pete sounds very concerned indeed.]

[Her arms and legs are sore from straining against the straps holding her down but over all, she's okay.]

Oh thank God. I really didn't need my week to get any worse-- being a robot would just be the end all. Can you undo these things?

[He fumbles with her straps and eventually gets her free. Usually he has better dexterity, but he's having to concentrate very hard on not letting sparks shoot out of his fingers. He compensates by venting even more out of his head as he fumes. Seriously: Johnny Blaze would be proud. He hisses.]

Goddamn Clickers.

[That's the first time he's said that word in months.]

So that was his plan, huh?

[She rubs her wrists. Huh. The skull thing was a little bit freaky, she couldn't lie. But there is no need to be rude to her savior.]

I think so. He knocked me out for most of this, so...

[Jan shakes her head.]

That little jerk.
