The rock cracks and flakes from his skin, and Goliath stretches upwards with that yawn that sounds like a roar as he bursts from his slumber ( ... )

Angela remained enthusiastic despite being so far away from home - despite being parted from the clan - for a variety of reasons. She had left Avalon in order to find new experiences and find herself. She had not expected all of her experiences to positive ones.

"I hope it will be more peaceful than Halloween," she said, caping her wings around her shoulders.

The zombies that had plagued the city had made it difficult for her to celebrate the holiday she'd heard the most about. Of course, her power now allowed her to walk about the city as she wished, but moving as a human still felt a little like hiding.

Halloween... was a true horror.

Goliath's face contorts a bit at the thought, as his wings follow suit with hers.

"I would hate to think of what could possibly be less peaceful."

"We've been in many strange situations since I left Avalon," she pointed out, attempting to allay her father's concerns as best she could. They had been at the whim of Avalon for most of their journey, and now they were at the whim of the transporter. In many ways, their lives were not that different now. "I'm sure it would be all right."

In an attempt to distract him, she crossed the apartment to withdraw his present from where it had been hidden.

"I have a gift for you," she said, with the shy smile of a daughter seeking a father's approval. That was something else that had not changed.
