Sanji was still getting used to the public transit system around the City, meaning he often found himself on the wrong routes or getting off at the wrong stops. He consoled himself by swearing that the maps were nigh-indecipherable and at least he wasn't Zoro just wandering lost in the middle of anywhere. He knew the streets, he just had to walk further to get to another transfer stop that would take him back to the MAC.

With his hands tucked deep in the pockets of his new wool peacoat and a cigarette dangling from his lips, he walked at a good clip up an unusually darkened street. He was tired from working at the club and just wanted to go put his feet up, but something arrested his attention en route. Youngsters traveling in a pack weren't all that unusual, but Sanji had been in this world long enough to gather that carrying swords was out of the ordinary. They were about to cross his path, so he called out, "Oi. What do you kids think you're doing?"

The only correction that Fakir could think to offer was, "He isn't mentally disturbed, he's possessed."

That was only after he was done grimacing at the blunt summary of the situation.

Wormmon blink-blinked it's blue eyes looking a little confused at all this as Ken slowly shook his head.

"We are dealing with powers that few people can understand." he said to Sainji. "If you still want to help... I won't turn you down. But if you want out, I understand."

Sanji looked from one to the other, eyeballing Goliath for only one extra instant, and then snorted. "I'm not a coward. I won't back out just because there's no princess. Sounds like a damn messed up situation."

He then shot Duck a quick, flashy grin. "If I can protect this little princess, that will be more than enough!"

Goliath's gaze turns to Sanji to size him up. His apparent desire to protect speaks well of him, as that is the gargoyle way, but he doesn't particularly trust anyone involved in this.

"I am called Goliath," he offers by way of introduction to the people he has not met yet.

"It would do us well to understand each other's abilities before entering battle."

"Who, me? I-i-i-i'm no princess!" stammered Duck, blushing more than a little bit. "I'm just a- I mean, I can't just stand by when Mytho is being held prisoner! I'll be fine, really!" She protested to Sanji.

There's a giant purple monster around, and she responds to the slippery guy first.

"This is my ability," Fakir said, raising his sword. He wasn't about to reveal anything about his actual powers to these people, even in the event that they would be useful.

Sanji turned from smiling at Duck to face the others with an aloof, superior sort of look. "Better be a hell of a swordsman, kid," he sniffed. "I fight with the Black Leg style of martial arts. I could kick the big guy here through that wall over there if I really wanted to..."

He picked up his left foot, gracefully raised and extended his leg (more flexibly than a normal person), and brought his heel to rest on top of Fakir's head - gently, it wasn't a kick. But he used it to turn Fakir to acknowledge him. He still had his hands in his pockets, too. "You don't have to worry about my ability."

Ken paused for a moment giving a slight shake of the head at Sanji's action. His blue eyes closing for a moment as he shook his head.

"Impressive enough." he said with a slight shrug. "My name is Ken Ichijouji" he said. "This is my partner Wormmon. A rookie level Digimon and my guardian. My abilities are telekinesis and telepathy."

"That means Ken-Kun can hear other people's thoughts and he can move things just by thinking. Oh and he can form shield around him, and he throw people and... uh and I can spit thread." The Digimon eagerly explained.

This boy and his creature, despite their strangeness, seem to be the only members of this group that may actually prove useful in combat against a sorceress.

"Swords and boots against a mage," he broods.

"This may go poorly."

Fakir snarled and stepped out from under Sanji's foot. He was starting to like the nosy bastard less and less.

"I've done with less before," he said. He tactfully decided to not mention the times he nearly died.

[[OOC: Hey, don't knock it. They have a giant flying monster and an escort mission Duck, too.]]

[[OOC: Hey, Duck is smarter than your average escortee AI! Most of the time. Well, sometimes.]]

"Uh, if it's any help I can turn into a duck." volunteered Duck in a hesitant voice. She felt she needed to stick up for their chances of success, but her confidence (never very great at the best of times) failed her as she looked up at the assembled group. She found it hard to imagine anything could stop such a creature as Goliath. She went to stand closer to Fakir. "Um, nevermind."

"Oi..." Sanji scowled up at Goliath, not at all intimidated by his form. After all, he had fought animal-type devil fruit users that were just as big and bulky. "My feet will be about as good in a fight as you, you damn dragon-thing. If you're so concerned about us against a mage, hide behind the worm-kid's shield or something."

He exhaled a long breath tinged with smoke from his cigarette and then beheld Duck once more, hiding his thoughts about her offer of power. "Don't you worry, little miss. Mr. Prince will protect you," he bragged, completely failing to actually introduce himself by his real name to the group. "Now. Are we going to do this thing or stand around on the corner all night?"

"It's Wormmon not Worm-Kid" The giant silkworm quickly corrected Sanji.

Ken paused for a moment looking somewhat uncomfortable at Sanji's attempts at impressing the younger girl. His head lowering for a moment.

"I do have some teammates." he said. "I can always call for backup." He frowned for a moment showing some concern as he knew how Fakir felt about Lyra. Plus he wasn't sure about Toph coming outside in this weather.

Wormmon meanwhile turned his attention to Duck in a strange fascination. A human who can digivolve. How odd. "Enough boasting; I don't want you here anyway," Fakir said, snubbing Sanji in favor of addressing Ken. "She turns into a regular yellow duck, and I want nothing to do with your team."

Maleficent could hear everything.

True, she no longer had the power to spy via a crystal ball or looking directly through Diablo's eyes, but the warehouse's ventilation system was terrifically useful in a pinch. Not to mention that the foolish little party approaching her now was absurdly loud.

She closed her eyes, and began to mutter a curse. The shadows at her feet pooled, solidified, grew hairy and sprouted too many legs, too many fangs--

A dozen spiders, each at least three feet tall, blinked bright eyes at her, hissing ominously.

"Go," she commanded, and they scuttled off towards the foolish party of heroes.
