With his hands tucked deep in the pockets of his new wool peacoat and a cigarette dangling from his lips, he walked at a good clip up an unusually darkened street. He was tired from working at the club and just wanted to go put his feet up, but something arrested his attention en route. Youngsters traveling in a pack weren't all that unusual, but Sanji had been in this world long enough to gather that carrying swords was out of the ordinary. They were about to cross his path, so he called out, "Oi. What do you kids think you're doing?"

That was only after he was done grimacing at the blunt summary of the situation.

"We are dealing with powers that few people can understand." he said to Sainji. "If you still want to help... I won't turn you down. But if you want out, I understand."

He then shot Duck a quick, flashy grin. "If I can protect this little princess, that will be more than enough!"
Reply
"I am called Goliath," he offers by way of introduction to the people he has not met yet.
"It would do us well to understand each other's abilities before entering battle."

"This is my ability," Fakir said, raising his sword. He wasn't about to reveal anything about his actual powers to these people, even in the event that they would be useful.

He picked up his left foot, gracefully raised and extended his leg (more flexibly than a normal person), and brought his heel to rest on top of Fakir's head - gently, it wasn't a kick. But he used it to turn Fakir to acknowledge him. He still had his hands in his pockets, too. "You don't have to worry about my ability."

"Impressive enough." he said with a slight shrug. "My name is Ken Ichijouji" he said. "This is my partner Wormmon. A rookie level Digimon and my guardian. My abilities are telekinesis and telepathy."
"That means Ken-Kun can hear other people's thoughts and he can move things just by thinking. Oh and he can form shield around him, and he throw people and... uh and I can spit thread." The Digimon eagerly explained.

"Swords and boots against a mage," he broods.
"This may go poorly."
Reply
"I've done with less before," he said. He tactfully decided to not mention the times he nearly died.
[[OOC: Hey, don't knock it. They have a giant flying monster and an escort mission Duck, too.]]

"Uh, if it's any help I can turn into a duck." volunteered Duck in a hesitant voice. She felt she needed to stick up for their chances of success, but her confidence (never very great at the best of times) failed her as she looked up at the assembled group. She found it hard to imagine anything could stop such a creature as Goliath. She went to stand closer to Fakir. "Um, nevermind."

He exhaled a long breath tinged with smoke from his cigarette and then beheld Duck once more, hiding his thoughts about her offer of power. "Don't you worry, little miss. Mr. Prince will protect you," he bragged, completely failing to actually introduce himself by his real name to the group. "Now. Are we going to do this thing or stand around on the corner all night?"

Ken paused for a moment looking somewhat uncomfortable at Sanji's attempts at impressing the younger girl. His head lowering for a moment.
"I do have some teammates." he said. "I can always call for backup." He frowned for a moment showing some concern as he knew how Fakir felt about Lyra. Plus he wasn't sure about Toph coming outside in this weather.
Wormmon meanwhile turned his attention to Duck in a strange fascination. A human who can digivolve. How odd. Wormmon meanwhile turned his attention to Duck in a strange fascination. True, she no longer had the power to spy via a crystal ball or looking directly through Diablo's eyes, but the warehouse's ventilation system was terrifically useful in a pinch. Not to mention that the foolish little party approaching her now was absurdly loud.
She closed her eyes, and began to mutter a curse. The shadows at her feet pooled, solidified, grew hairy and sprouted too many legs, too many fangs--
A dozen spiders, each at least three feet tall, blinked bright eyes at her, hissing ominously.
"Go," she commanded, and they scuttled off towards the foolish party of heroes.
