Jen was not only angry, she was radioactive again. That harness of Tony's had been a marvelous machine, but prototypes occasionally fail, usually at exactly the wrong moment. This was that wrong moment.

As the radiation the harness had been storing burst out of her again, she actually felt herself go utterly numb, and yet at the same time crackling with power. She didn't feel it when she swung her legs off her bed. She didn't feel the rasp of the sheets against her body. She didn't feel her feet touching the floor. Oh, certainly, there was a pressure there, and she wasn't losing her balance, but it was like a limb that's fallen asleep. Everything tingled and ached and buzzed. Everything.

Her temper, usually so very well contained in her other primal impulses, had finally found outlet.

The Hulks are not going to help this already shattered City in the least...

She wasn't really herself at all, and had no idea where she was going. She was just running. She was making prodigious leaps, her senseless legs hammering into the ( ... )

Hulk reveled in the feeling of being out. Free. His heavy hands twitched, alive and tense. He could ruin something, just for the sake of feeling it come to pieces in his hands---jagged edges of a concrete pylon, the relatively weak resistance of metal, the sack of meat and juice of a thoroughly tenderized body---and he wanted to. The desire was hot and pressing, compulsion thundering through his limbs as he touched down from an incredible jump. The car alarms for two blocks around went off, howling bells that scraped at his ear drums.

Hulk's lips twisted, peeling off his teeth in a snarl.

Hurt. Stupid cars ( ... )

It was like she was two places at once. In the driver's seat, whooping and screaming like a teenage boy who'd had one too many stolen beers, screaming up a highway at one hundred miles an hour. Free and reckless and dangerous. She was well aware of what she was doing. She knew that she was out of control, and she was reveling in it ( ... )

Jen was fast, but not as fast as Hulk. Hulk was bigger and stronger and he was not going to let her get away. She had a place, and Hulk was not going to let her forget that. Snorting again, he crouched low and started running. He was a tank, the failed super soldier that had ended up being more powerful than puny golden America could ever be. Sometimes, Hulk wanted to grab Rogers by the throat and rip him, feel the strings and chunks of him in his teeth.

He'd thought Rogers was different at first. Thought Rogers would help stupid Bruce Banner. But he had hurt Hulk, beating him up and making him angry.

But Hulk had never liked Stark. He smelled like canned meat and had used sounds that'd hurt his ears. Jen liked Stark, and that made him want to peel off his tin covering and bleed him all the more ( ... )
