This is a sad way for them to meet, but ;asfadf computed November 22 2011, 00:18:08 UTC
[ Jensen here has been living the good life out in the City, minus the fact that the friends he has are all sort of absent. He's managing by himself just fine though. Let it never be said he's not a resourceful man. But his details of his life are not important at the moment, what matters is that he himself is in a pretty good mood, and life has been treating him well.

Which makes stumbling across a girl sitting in an alleyway, all curled up on herself. She looks like she's all of sixteen, and while Jensen doesn't necessarily have a bleeding heart, he's got a soft spot for women and children, so this is one of the last sights he ever wants to see.

Not sure how to even handle this situation, he decides to just go for it, strolling right into the alleyway and striking up a conversation, trying to use a joking tone to lighten up the mood, even just a little. ]

Now that can't be sanitary.

[ gwen slowly looks up at jensen once he starts talking and fixes him with the most suspicious and unimpressed stare to ever come out of a sixteen year old with raccoon eyes. who is this strange person and why is he talking to her.

almost unconsciously, her hand grips her bag even tighter, as if she's ready to smack him with it and run if he turns out to be a creeper. actually, forget the as if. that's what she's planning. ]

I'm just resting until my leg cramp goes away. [ lies ] What do you care if it's sanitary or not?

A kid like you, sitting around in an alley? I'm gonna be honest, I've got my doubts here, but I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt.

[ Well no, he isn't, and they probably both know that, but it doesn't mean he's not gonna say it. ]

But you know, there's the whole problem with disease, or at least just dirt and hobo... bodily excrement.

[ there is just the most horrified look ever. ]

Excrement? Seriously?

[It's getting too damn cold for this, but it's another day in the park for Cassie. She'd gotten so in the habit of stopping in the park after her classes are over for the day, that is hadn't really sank in yet that the chill wasn't going away and she was facing another Christmas in this place.

Joy to the world.

Her arms were full with a huge sketchbook that she was working out of and her back was full of her usual sets of pens, pencils, books, another smaller notebook, all the things that a private arts school called homework. Looking for a place to set something down so she could zip up her coat, she spied a nearby bench occupied only by a sad-looking blonde.]

Hey, mind if I set this stuff down for a sec?

[ the paperback in her (slowly numbing) hands was engrossing and so it took gwen half a second after looking up at cassie to reply. ]

Oh, uh... sure. Here.

[ she grabs her bag from beside her and puts it on the ground, carefully scooting over to the other side of the bench so cassie has all the room she needs. all the while, she peers at the other girl, a little curious, a little suspicious and a lot tired. ]

[Setting everything down, Cassie quickly zips up her coat and looks at the other girl. There's something familiar about her, but Cassie really isn't anymore into prying in other people's misery than she is in having people pry into hers.

Still.]

You know, there's gotta be warmer places to read than out here.

I know. I'm not an idiot.

[ her expression quickly turns from curious to annoyed. because, really, who didn't know there were warmer places in the fall than the great outdoors? ]

I was hanging out other places earlier.

monday!! eveningish? in a park? technophantom November 22 2011, 04:17:18 UTC
[Ghost has tried to minimize his presence in the City, but if he could mastermind his operation from a tiny room in a basement 24/7, he would. He noticed her from just outside the park's south entrance, his telescopic lenses, his computerized suit, gave him a 95.5% probability it was the imPort, Gwen, he'd spoken to before on the Network.

The one Spider-Man had warned him to stay away from.

He floated in undeterred, made even more curious by the fact that she seemed to be alone. He called up a prior conversation, and he decided it was wiser to assume she was armed.]

[ the closer it gets to nightfall, the more paranoid gwen gets when she stops to sit and recompose herself. she's fairly confident in her ability to knife and/or pepperspray the hell out of anyone who my try and creep on her, but there's still a little bit of worry.

which is why, when ghost says her name, she tenses up visibly and glares at him as much as she can. she recognizes him. and that's not exactly reassuring. ]

What.

[though he had a considerable amount of time to think about what he was going to say, he finds himself lacking any appropriate social response, and falls back on ...asking the obvious.]

What are you doing here alone?

I'm reciting The Canterbury Tales in my head. What the hell does it look like I'm doing?

[ it looks like you're sitting in a park being a mopey teenager who probably smells a little of fast food, gwen, that is not exactly a good thing. ]
