Ames strolled around the corner and squinted against the sunlight to read the store names above her. Little hole-in-the-wall shops peppered the spaces between the more substantial storefronts, and it took her a few moments to spy the sub shop in all the visual noise. And if that was there, then Maggie was...

Well, pretty damn hard to miss. She was tall.

"Maggie?" Ames asked as she walked up. And in case she wasn't, Ames cast around the crowd looking for any other likely candidates.

Maggie looked up, and then down slightly. She nodded. "Yes. Miss Ames?"

At that, Ames thrust out her hand. "Yup. Nice to finally meet someone from the network in person. All those talking heads were starting to make me feel like I was in a video game or something."

Maggie smiled and briefly but firmly shook her hand. "It is a little surreal sometimes."

She rubbed the back of her neck, obviously a little nervous despite trying to put on a professional demeanor. "Maybe it's a little odd, but a case came in, and maybe you'll find it interesting. If you wanted, we could work on it. Might be better to see how we might work together from a practical perspective." She shrugged. "But I understand if you'd rather not dive in."
