ARRIVING HEH broroona August 25 2011, 05:56:16 UTC
[He gets up slowly, peeling his eyes apart. Waits a few seconds for the blur to disappear from his eyes. When it does, he sees Tom over him, and of course, remembers exactly why he was asleep.

He pretty much snarls.]

You tricked me.

[He's too focused on Tom to notice where they are. So for the moment, Tom is left with an angry baroona (again)]

And I'm sorry for that, really, but after the third time we had to pull over, I figured it was for the best.

[Tom backs off a little, wanting to stay out of the range of Baroona's fists. He expected this kind of reaction, but hopefully the change in scenery would make things better.]

[Nope, not yet. He seems to recover his energy fairly quickly, sitting up and glaring at Tom. He crosses his arms.]

Are we there?

[Tom just ignores the glare. He knows that you don't mean it, bro.]

See for yourself. I'm sure you want to get out of the car anyway.

[He steps out of the way, and sure enough, they're in a fairly private, wooded area, with the falls nearby.]

THAT WATERFALL DRAMA broroona August 25 2011, 06:25:32 UTC
[It felt good to sleep out in the real outdoors again. The parks were nice simulations, but in the end they were just as manmade as the City itself. Here, man could only touch, not change.

It was exactly what Baroona had been looking for.

The waterfall itself was something spectacular. As if pulled straight from his travels. He remembered stumbling across small streams and falls, taking respite in them. Bathing in or under their waters. It was one of the most rewarding sensations in the world. Completely freeing.

And now he had the chance to do it again.

He waited for Tom to fall asleep before leaving, making sure to leave behind his boots. He was quieter with bare feet, anyway. Expertly, he stole through the trees surrounding the falls, passed empty roads, and snuck into the nature preserve itself. A smaller section full of smaller waterfalls. Safer ones. There, he stripped himself of his clothes and stepped in, closing his eyes as the water pushed down on his shoulders. He smiled.]

[Tom usually didn't sleep well in the real outdoors. He was a city boy through and through, and needed the smoke in the air, the artificial lights shining in through the window, and the sounds of cars and activity just outside. Still, he fell asleep quickly tonight, using his jacket as a blanket, even though he had changed into his werepanther shape before sleeping, if only because it was more comfortably to sleep on the ground in ( ... )

[Years of being hunted had taught Baroona to keep his wits about him, and more importantly, his weapons close. Upon hearing the snapping of the twig, he lurched to his bag, slid his weapon out and threw it toward the source of the sound, with Baroona following it swiftly. He snapped the cord down, just before the knife embedded itself in a tree, and caught the blade as it rebounded. Turning quickly and silently, he brought the knife to the intruder's throat, narrowing his eyes when he could finally make out who it was.]

What are you doing?

[He didn't lower the knife.]

[Tom had never seen Baroona fight before, so it came as a surprise to him just how fast the other guy was, even by his werecat standards, and how expertly he used the weapon was frightening. He could have seriously hurt Tom before the panther could even react.]

Shit! It's just me!

[He gingerly lifts his hand, touching once of his claws to the blade of the knife and slowly pushing it away from his throat.]

You weren't at the campsite. I just came to check on you and make sure that you were okay.
