[ Equius comes out of his room abruptly, breaking down the door because lol this is an emergency okay. He's got a screwdriver behind his ear and looks around the room. Well, stares, actually. He hasn't noticed the posters yet, but-- ]

Aradia, what is the meaning of this?

[supertiero]

[She pretty much just stares at him. Before she got brought out of the City and came to life again, she would be steel in this kind of situation, all glowing glass eyes and clenched metal teeth. Now, she's blank.

Her voice comes out a little strangled-sounding, in contrast to the unnatural calm on her face.]

They got Sollux. [But that doesn't explain much! Oops.] He's dead.

[ Equius continues to stare at her, and takes off his sunglasses for a moment to poke at them with the screwdriver... carefully. He glares. ]

That doesn't explain why you've chosen to destroy our hive. Look at this mess! It's appalling! You know, Aradia, perhaps I have been lenient of your uncivilized behavior in the past, but if you insist on such tomfoolery -- over that yellow-blooded rapscallion, no less -- I really will be forced to put my foot down. STRONGLY.

[Aradia stays silent while he talks, her eyebrows knitting progressively and progressively closer together. She wants to blow up at him! In a tag second or two, she probably will. For the moment, though, she's busy pooling together her last reserves of patience in order to make a civilized response instead of "Equius, I think it is really time for you to shut up." Her lips, which have been pressed together in a hard line, open, and she sounds more robotic, mostly due to how forced it is, than she has in a month.]

I don't see why, since this is exactly what you did when you heard about Nepeta.

[Even as she realizes what a spectacularly awful thing that was to say, she can't really care. It's the same thing, isn't it? Or it should be. If she had just asked him before--no, that's stupid, this is stupid.]
